PS3 sux i had both versions, and they suck so bad, i sold my first for 50 and gave away my PS3 to an orphanage, everytime i go down there, nobody is playing it "ha ha", there are only 3 games that sound good on the PS3(Which probably suck), i honestly hate that crappy system, i am sticking to PC, will get a wii and Xbox360.

2005 or 2006 Carmack is still saying the same things regarding the difficulty AND COST of making games for the PS3. One of the main reasons he prefers the Xbox360 over the PS3.

Read the WHOLE interview. "Although the PS3's Cell processor is powerful, it's still a single-thread processor (unlike high-end PC processors)."

Since you's dont know anything about hardware, I'll explain it. The PS3 can read textures through it graphics chip just fine, but the CPU reads data like geometry from memory at a rediculously slow rate, meaning good textures and small game spaces with few object in them.

Too many issues whith the PS3 right now. I read the story. It's not a good thing for the PS3. And if you buy the $499 PS3, your f**ked for HD support as anonymous has said. You need HDMI support. You do not get that on the $499 PS3. So for a console costing twice that of the WII console and giving you the same resoltuion, do you wonder why Sony is f**ked this generation?

Which means, a $500 console will only give you 480 resolution. Period. That's the same res as the Wii console.
As for someone saying that you see no downside to the PS3. I see plenty. Price for one. 2x as much as the Wii. 2x that of the Xbox360. And now details released prove at this point, the PS3 has half the rendering power of the xbox360 and the PS3 costs 2x more! Blu-Ray drive is the other. If that format fails, you basically have this huge box with a dead format. Go read the Inquirer article about the "broken" cell cpu and RSX.

Actually Anonymous, the story at theinquirer states clearly that you will not be able to run games in HD with the cheaper PS3 at all because it lacks a HDMI interface. Sony has no plans on putting that in either. It's more then just cables for HD content ;) Sony has now said they would allow you to upgrade it's cheaper console to ALMOST the level of the $599 PS3. But you still can't get HD content as Sony still won't put in HDMI interface in it. Its a major hardware installation. Not just cables.

ign have a list of named launched titles for the wii last i checked there where 10 games including that cool looking fps with sword play.
I would buy a ps3 if the price tag dropped, allow some good news for the sony ppl if read up about e3 the big thing that every1 seems to have missed is that sony did say the cheap version could be upgrade (after there big price news so i guess every1 left the room) seening as the hdtv support boils down to some special cable that you plug into the back and they did promise that like the xbox360 it will be upgradeable later on. think that was on ign as well or the TheInquirer.
I will be getting a wii even if it's just to help me get fitter by playing virtual tennis or something :)

I first read it last night and was tunned to say the least. Absolutely stunned. There is nothing really to say here. Someone like the article says, messed up real bad to the point were the console is crippled in many respects. This is one reason why the so many delays and Pre-Rendered video and games just running off a PC and noit PS3 hardware at E3 2005 and E3 2006. It all fits now.

And again you mention Zelda. All the hopes for the Wii are being put on this one game. This one game that will also be available on the Gamecube. There is absolutley no point in buying the Wii for the next Zelda game. And the next GTA game has already been announced for the PS3 and 360 so get your facts straight before you post.

Considering most of them have signed on to the Wii, you will get plenty of those same type games that littered the PS2. 3rd party support made the PS2 very successful. Because it was not their 1st party stuff. They had very little of that. And the ones they had were s**t except a few.

I agree with anon at 16:0. I still havent seen any game titles that make the Wii worth getting. Mario and Metroid are lame, and the Zelda game can be purchased for the Gamecube. Who cares if software houses have signed up to the Wii, there are still no game titles announced that would be worthwhile. If anyone can name a Wii only game that will be better than the new GTA, Assassin's Creed or the next Devil May Cry, then please, I would love to hear it.

Who cares if the Wii console won best on show. The simple fact is the Wii does not have the games to support the console. Why waste money on a Wii for the new Zelda game (the only appealing game for the Wii) when you can get it on the Gamecube? The Wii will never see such great titles as Assassin's Creed or even Grand Theft Auto because its simply aimed too much at the younger market with games like mario etc, which most people are sick of anyway.
