You don't know what your missing if you have a capable PC in your lving room. Hooked to your HI-FI system. Amazing. If i were to spend $600, it would not be on a PS3 that's for sure. I spend it on a new CPU or extra GPU for Crossfire or SLI. Gaming on your TV now that GPU's have HDMI slots kills any console setup.

Yeh, I know stacks of people who's PC has now found its home in the lounge. Maybe you need to get in the market for a sleeker more loungeroom friendly case ;).

I'd like to have my PC connected to my main TV but sadly the wife has clearly stated "i'll never have that gigantic block sitting in my loungeroom" she doesn't mind the old PS2 though, she enjoys slaughtering me in Tekken everynow and then :(

I specifically bought a xtx1900xtx Vivo card for gaming on my 42 inch TV.It's not a hard thing to connect it up. I have 4 wireless Logitech controllers and a steering wheel/gas joystick. Plays exactly like a console but better visuals and sound. It's hooked up to my 7.1 surrond sound.

My nForce 2 Deluxe gaming systems does Dolby Surround encoding in hardware or Dolby Digital 5.1 from any audio cd, game or movie that I play and watch. Now thats a feature I would like to see with the PS3, and prolly wont upgrade till It has a SoundStorm 2 system or something better!

Yeh, but it's not exactly a great feat of effort either....maybe if all you ever did all day was play the thing. But then you'd probably have difficulty doing other things like raising a cup to your face and taking a shower...

Anonymous at 8:52 5/7/2006I don't think you understand what he meant, he's talking about easy transport to the loungeroom from were his PC is set up, moving a PC is alot more hassle then moving a small portable device moving a console takes seconds and is great when you have friends around

Until I can disconnect my PC and connect it to to TV in my loungeroom all that extra "power" means nothing though power always means nothing since power and gfx have never made a game.... cept Halo 2 since that was all gfx damn you bungie you embarassed Halos good name >.< Don't screw up halo 3 (yes off topic but I really liked original halo and 2 was shocking)

I prefer the proper gaming devices...the keyboard and mouse. Afterall, they are attached to a more powerful machine than these lame consoles.

Your logic is flawed because the N64 was also the same price as the PS1. :p The PS3 does not have this advantage this time. When it's released, the Xbox360 and Wii console will be alot cheaper

Anonymous
at 23:54 3/7/2006

the PS3 will be $999 off the shelf here, the PS1 was $1027 on release here, even though I'd never pay that much for a console people did and once the people who could afford it did the price lowered to the level that more people could buy then lowered more then more then more

$659+$60-$80 PER GAME. 7%GST. 8%PST Add one more controller so your buddy can play. That's about $59.99(thats the cost of the Xbox360 controller) And what you have is one frekn expensive toy. $659 PS3+ $60 GAME+ $59.99 CONTROLLER =$778.99+ 15% SALES TAX =$895.84 (AND THAT'S FOR JUST 1 GAME!) What a joke Sony is trying to pull.

Its 659$ can plus tax 7% gst and some provinces have sales tax too boot. could be as high as 750$ can. and then buy some games may as well start with three and they could be 80$ can. hmmm 360 is just fine .

That's the point, maybe the consumer doesn't want a blu-ray drive. Maybe the cheaper HD-DVD is satifactory for them. That's what you's don't understand. You say it's cheap because Sony PR says it's so. Now Sony PR says jump off a cliff.....off you go then.

Arru ur a bit silly. Firstly 600USD may be just 1 fifth of your salary in US. Guess what in over 50percent of EU this is an average salary per person... Makes you think ? Starve 1 month = buy crippled PS3... 1 more month = buy HDTV..

How is 600 a "too big price"? Get a job or stop drinking so much. If you are too young to work, you too young to play PS3. If you want cheap games buy chess or something...

They will add it to the PS3. And supply the Astro-Glide Lube for $4.99 for good measures. Sony is using everything in its power to justify the $600 price tag for lame duck.
