Wow, Square is once again blaming anything other than themselves for their games bombing in different regions. Rather than blaming various cultures for your lack-luster sales, maybe you should change your culture of producing pathetic half-assed sequels with the sole intention of milking a franchise?

I think they're hinting that FF XIII is gonna take a hit in quality due to the multi-platform release. Yeah I know it's only on 360 in the US but I think Japan is still scheduled to get it by the end of this year on PS3 and spring/summer 2010 everywhere else.

If the title was any worse. "No Good Game Can Success" Don't they mean Succeed? No wonder I don't read these articles anymore.

How do you know a game won't sell if you never release it in that territory and never hype/advertise it?

... maybe if square enix thought about thinking outside their tiny, tiny box - well, 2d square - then perhaps success...

As far as I understood his message, its not about the availability in other countries, but about the content of a game.

Of course there are other expenses as well. However many games aren't released in eur0pe at all, and the amount of people in europe who are interested in JRPG and other games that are never released here are hardly a minority. It's not like the game has to be released in every c0untry, as long as it can be ordered v1a for instance the intern3t. But the game itself must be subtitled first.

Yea Yarr because the only cost of shipping a game world wide is internacionalizing it, theres no production costs, no shipping costs, no import taxes nothing of the sort, right?and Anon @ 11:35 Territories dictate the culture and thats what MOST people in each place will cater to. And thats what they care about, not minorities that cant turn a profit.

I think he has a good point. But anonymous at 11:35 is also correct. Just because I live in scandinavia, doesn't mean I'm not interested in for instance JRPG. Not releasing a specific game worldwide just because it was targeted at a specific territory (or target audience) is not a good idea. Too many japanese games are not released in europe when all they have to do is adding subtitles to the games if they're on a low budget.
