I think Halo 2 will rock, the story in the first was very well done as it kept the hole game flowing effortlessly into each segment wilthough muth to stop and make you think this sux, the graphix where good and the controlls where second to none, now those saying that halo 2 will have the same old storyline are probably right but f**k guys what you expect, Most games have ties to there original it is normal otherwise you have storylines that dont mesh at all wich in the halo verse would suck coz to assume the covenent just got bored and went home would be stupid lol!
aniway that is my 2 cents.. the other games arent fazing me much...

I agree with grimreaper. carmack is an asshole. All the flaws in doom3 will come from carmack not wanting them fixed. He didnīt want proper ai nor ragdoll physics. He really couldnīt give a shit about doom3. All its current features that are really cool were done by programmers defying him. HL2 and doom3 will be great, but doom3 could be a whole lot better than it will be if only carmack wasnīt leading the team. I think he should be burned at the stake.

te the second one with too much in mind, he prolly has too high expectations for this one and will screw it up somehow. But all in all, I'm rooting for Half-Life 2, when it comes to Doom 3, your seriously have to think of what there is to comepare between the two games. Do you seriously want to ignore the fun you could have with a physics system and a gravity gun in HL2? Or pushing a table in front of a door and stopping a bad guy chasing after you, only to have him shoot you through the window, then when you hide, watch him kick the door open and have all the shit on the table go flying and watching the door swing open. And imagine controlling a small army of insects with pheremones, having them do you're bidding... now that just makes fun gameplay.

Have you done any researching on Doom 3 at all? It's basically a technological demonstration for id's new engine, like I stated in another post, Carmack took it as basically his own project, cutting things like a "use" key, not implement any good ai algorithms with the reason that it was an old-style shooter. But in my opinion, Doom 3 with a good ai system would be the scariest f**king game around, plus it would greatly extend its replayability. The other developers at id had to secretly slip in several features themselves, cause Carmack's f**king stupid. Features such as ragdoll death's which should appear in the final version. As for myself, I've always been a Half-Life person, ignoring all the mods and hype and shit, the first one is my favourite game, I saw it in an issue of PC Gamer about a year before it came out, and was greatly obsessed with it from that date, I had no idea it would ever become so big. It DOES have great graphics, what are you Doom 3 fanatics trying to run down HL2 for? Sure Doom 3 has some extra nice shadowing and bump mapping, texture shadowing and really nice lighting effects, but Half-Life has some nice graphics as well. Of course, when it comes to the gameplay, that's where HL2 shines. It's hard to compare the games tho, Half-Life 2 is action oriented, huge outdoor environments, some indoor levels, fast-paced action and very interested physics-based puzzle solving and shit. Doom 3 is all about eerie mood, dark and disturbing, close combat and intense close calls. Half-Life 1 had a good story, minus Xen and the f**king retarted G-man that magically followed you through the levels unscathed through the entire thing. They should've had a good hollywood writer for HL2, instead of the same dumbass who wrote the first one. IMO, he's not a very good writer, and I think he'll wri

true true hl developers might be in it for the mney but have you seen the hl2 25min movie... hl2 has some impresive physics and graphics close, if not better than, to D3.

first of all, Doom3 wasnt meant to have a story but only have pure shooting and it does that just right.If anyone thinks HL 1 has a good story, then I'm sorry to say that you dont know what a good story is.
If you want a good game with a good story, play Mafia, Mafia wipes the floor with HL. Sequals are hardly ever good as the first one and considering HL 1 sucked my ass, I bet HL 2 will suck my balls. If you dont like my opinion, well, go f**k urself cuz I couldnt care less.

These awards are Total Crap.
HL2 (reportatly) has the same ass wipeing storyline as the first game. WORSE than D3's. and the monsters look like shit, whereas Dooms monsters have always made me feel a little bit queesy. and they are living up to the hype. I'm sorry HL2 guys, it'll fly, but not too high. ATI has more power than nVidia does at the moment. nVidia just has a different stratigy, they are going for driver performance. I am not saying that ATI isn't trying that as well, but if we look at the new Catalyst drivers that were put out, they don't even run half-life 1. How the hell are they going to run Half-life 2? Even with that said, I would buy an ATI any day of the week over an nVidia just because they are higher clock speed, oh, and everyone online that does reviews and benchmarks says so.

this news in .... HL2 runs better on a Nvidia FX than a radeon9XXX haha, the main source coding was optimized originally for a old NV chipset and now nvidia is releasing a driver that revises and increases overall frames and image quality!!!
