the ps2 may have many crappy games, but 95% is an exhageration. the other 5% must be the elite games you're talking about. the xBox has only 4 good games @ most: halo, ninja gaiden, DOA3, splinter cell. out of the rest of the games they have, that's under 2%. gee so i guess 98% of XBOX games are crap. now to put it in real terms, y don't u go look @ ign.com? they'll tell u the truth. yes, the XBOX has a higher percentage of high rated games. BUT, the PS2 has a higher number of high rated games than the XBOX and GC combined. quality over quantity, you said? you must be some retarted freak or moron coz you obviously don't know wtf ur talkin about, purchasing an XBOX.lastly, suck a nut and rest in peace.

LOL. DJ, sit back and relax b4 u have a heart attack.cross platform games are usually rated 7 or 8 out of 10 which is reasonably high. BUT, no one gives a f.uck about multi-platform game. all the sports games...LOL! people waste so much money to buy a game one year, only to realize in 5 months, that they're gonna have to buy another one next year which is totally identical. talk about shovelware. a person buys a system based on the exclusives that one system has. i don't see halo coming onto the PS2...nor will i see Ninja Gaiden. i don't see a Final fantasy game going onto that crappy XBOX n e time soon. LOL...the XBOX has plenty of shovelware. morrowind, star wars, n e star wars game PERIOD...unreal, n e sports game. i don't see why ur complaining? it all adds to "variety" whether it's crappy variety or hailing variety. get it f.ucken straight b4 you start noticing your being fed knuckle sandwiches. Max Payne 2 was garbage. i beat that crap in a few hours and it wasn't even worth the pirated download. the graphics were horrible, even on my 9600XT. gee, if it was crap on the PC, it'd be worst on n e console. "Graphics and sound sells" yeah...that's prolly why you see so many throwback software over at EB games or Gamestop. Y? games like XIII and PGR2 or LOTR:ROTK are on sale for under $20. y? because once the idiot who bought the game realized there was no game in the game he bought, he knew he was screwed. and wow, he felt even happier when he knew he was only getting $2 credit for those games. tsk tsk tsk...classic. LOL...back to the shovelware...that's prolly why Sony is still leading the race. the crappy variety may not appeal to you *who obviously thinks he's special*, but it may appeal to those who are on a budget, or those who are yanks from the countryside who can't destinguish good cows from dead rats.

I couldnt agree more Anon below. Just that comment about more "shovelware adds variety" from matriXBOXsucks shows he's a moron fanboy. ALL SHOVELWARE IS CRAP. ALL OF IT. This is the very reason the console industry crashed in 1984. The market was flooded with so much shovelware titles so developers could make a quick buck, consumers got pissed off and stopped buying. This is the very reason i sold my PS2. For every good game out, 10 would be total crap from 2nd and 3rd party sources. True second rate software developers. You had to wait a long time for the good triple A titles to come out for the PS2, and when they did, they came out for the GameCube and Xbox also. (Cross Platform games)
And those verisons are almost always better. Cleaner visuals. Better sound. And most importantly, smoother frame rates and no slowdown. Something that effects almost every PS2 game.
Case in point. MaxPayne 2. Total shit for the PS2. "graphics and sound don't sell a game..." The hell they do. It's a major sell. If the graphics and sound suck ass, the game right there will fail. Graphics and sound add to the gameplay. It's a sweet plus. It completes the game. Especially when the other consoles versions have it and the PS2 does not. Maybe this is why so many PS2 users say Graphics and sound do not mean much. Most titles lack most of those features compared to the Xbox and GameCube.
I personally look for games of QUALITY over quantity. I don't give a rats ass if the console has 10,000 games and 95% of those games are shit. I rather have a game system that has very few games, however those games are of higher quality. PS2 has the least quality of the 3 consoles and this is due to the lack of content controls Sony has. They allow ANYONE to make games for the system. Sony has zero policy on content control. Sony Execx even stated this when the ps2 was in developement. They wanted as much 3rd party sources to support the system. And look at all the crap that has come out because

LOL...outdated. the SNES is "outdated"...but i bet u n e thing, it has games that are more enjoyable than those on the XBOX...and even on the PS2. *outdated* lol...you're such a fag. if you need faster frame rates and better sound, you need some serious help coz u can't hear or see well enough. eye/sound candy has no impact of fun factor/depth of the game. end of story...graphics and sound don't sell a game...the content does, and unfortunately, the XBOX falls short when it comes to the meat of the game. lol bitch!

Ps2 and xbox both have their pros and cons, one have better graphics, and the other has more games. If you like raw graphical power choose the big X but if you like a bigger variety of games get a ps2 that simple.

anon, your an idiot. aintcha ever keep up with the news? MS lost nearly all japanese support...except for Tecmo...only with DOA3 did the japanese market began giving the XBOX a second chance. sure, ps2 has plenty of shovelware...but so does the XBOX. LOL...the majority of the xbox games that come out are games that everyone has seen or have been there. and besides, shovelware just adds to diversity, something the xbox lacks.
