i want order this i want this in 2004, can i do that

So I make PC games, and my buddys work in the console industry, one of whom just moved over to the DS team, and we're all hashing out this very same debate each week. The fact is both systems have their points. And thats cool, the DS will have some very nice games coming out both premiering, the next FF Chronicles, AC online, Metroid Hunter, some great Jap games to be released, including the original Secret of Mana. It will be initially cheaper by about 100 bucks, and 6 months earlier, which is cool. And it will be backward compatable w/ all older GB games.
The PSP will be a more powerful handheld machine, better graphics, faster, bigger..more expensive, more high tech.. So what I want to know is, who the F*** is going to shell out $$250+ for a handheld system with a DVD system that new an entirely NEW dvd format library, (to watch on the tiny screen no less) a bunch of rehashed PS games, again on a new expensive format, that cant play anything from before, and take it on the bus? Only adults can afford that kind of high end ent, and to be honest, adults should know better than to waste that kind of money on a handheld which will be obsolete within 5 years anyway. The Next Gen Consoles will cost that much next year. As for hurting the Nintendo grasp on their market? Please...do you guys even read their earnings? They made over half a billion $$ in SP sales in the first 6 months in N America alone. Their handheld market carries the console team easily, so that they dont have to put out licenses to sh*tty 3rd parties to fill up the gameshelves with halfassed games for all the losers who think quantity has anything to do with quality games. And for the assplugger who cant think of any good NGC games, everytime I bust out my cube for a virgin who "only" plays PS2 or XBOX, they almost always rave about how cool the games are, and badmouth their friends who told them otherwise. Every system has good games, quit sh*tting on mine.
Which 'ADULT' whould wan't to have a gamesystem, they are veary immature

I always loved Nintendo games and hardware, and I'm sure it will win this hend-held battle. Anyways, hend-held gaming was an idea of Nintendo. So go to hell Sony, and eat crap with your 3rd person shooters.

Quote from xXx: "And WTF how many handhelt consoles did nintendo make. First the GBC and then GBA..."
Actually it was GB, GBPocket, GBColor, GBAdvance, the GBSP and now the DS.

Hey fuctard, You're definetly the fuctard here is you believe PSP is better than DS. You can't even spell "Sonny."

price hasn't been mentioned for either ds or psp. they can be the same price!
Nintendo will play all the cards they have up their sleeve with this DS project. They will not go away without a fight... I think that Sony have a great product that could end Nintendo handheld supremacy. Now its just a matter of how their Pros and Cons work in other to establish the better system, for example:
- PS2 have sold more consoles than Xbox and Gamecube combined... - PS2 have sold more games than Xbox and Gamecube combined - The hardware with longer life span is the Playstation brand. - Sony is a fierce competidor. For every Important title the other competidors have, Sony always have an equal or better title out or in the making. (i.e. killzone vs Halo) - Backward compatibility is always a great thing both in games and accesories. -------------------- - Gamecube is struggling to sell their systems with the only weapon proven to be effective: Its price. Thats why they have managed to sometimes sell more systems than PS2. Because ppl ALREADY own a PS2. Gamecube $99.99 w/Metroid :-/
- Xbox have the best hardware, the best controller(for me), the best hacking tools, the best online service and the worst library of games... Play Sudeki, very anticipated by me, and after 2 hours I was disappointed. Why? Great potential and they had to rush it to satisfy the need for an RPG for the Xbox. Same with Brute Force. Read the Developers interview: "...time was something we needed in order to polish things up but as the release date aproached, we had to fix things up very quickly..." So sad M$ have the potential and is wasted because of porr planning... :-(

So what, i can barely think of 5 games that make it worthwhile to get a gamecube. If there is one system that gets shovel full of poop its nintendo. Nintendo fanboys pretend they only get great games... all the while they only purchase a couple of games ... all made by nintendo. Thats why the bloody system is dying, just like the n64. Even when those games are turds, they still buy them and act as if the game is "new and innovative", when its already been done before a million times (mario sunshine, f-zero, mario kart, mario party, mario golf...). What innovation??? Enough with the bloody mario games already!!! And then they release a cel-shaded zelda, whoop-t-doo. And nintendo fanboys pretend that they're not disappointed when the game is released, all the while they are dying on the inside. This was all the more apparent when at E3, all the nintendo zealots were masturbating like maniacs when a more realistic and gritty zelda was shown, which was the game they should of released in the frickin' first place - and not d**king around with us with that lameass celda. Oh yeah and the nes was very versatile, but the disk slot thingie was a turd, and would get very buggy a few years down the road. Saying sony is poor quality is very hypocritical, all consoles have their problems, especially with early models (dreamcast,xbox,ps2). Even though gamecube is pretty good, they wavebird breaks easily.
Lastly, when ps2 has alot of games, people should stop acting like that is a bad thing. It's frickin' great! You can always find great things, games like Disgaea, ICO, and Robot Alchemic Drive, were all low budget games that blew my mind! Stuff like that you'd never find on a gamecube or even an xbox.
/end rant

xXx you are a 12 year old fanboy. First off, 40 more titles as you claim do not make a system better. Especially when most of those titles on the PS2 are true shovelware. I can only think of a handful of titles that are decent on the PS2 that has come out in the last 2 years...
Anonymous at 4:52 11/8/2004
Sony sucks Anyone that knows anything about quality in products knows you won't find it in sony products Speakers, Car audio, Home Audio, HDTV's, and consoles
Sony is near the bottom when it comes to performance and cheaply made products.
It's just a shame that some people are so blind to this FACT, that they think the ps1 or 2 were any good.
Go ahead, ask someone in the store, for an honest opinion.
There's a reason why the orginal NES still works today and most people had to get their ps1 or 2 replaced.
Sony Sucks Period
xXx at 4:9 11/8/2004
Lol some nintendo fans here i see. Well you got yourself a Sony fan here. Hey when ps2 was released every1 talked about gamecube will be better. Hmmmm, didnt really happend PS2 owned the gamecube. And WTF how many handhelt consoles did nintendo make. First the GBC and then GBA and they maked a cheap copy of GBA called GBSP. WTF can you make one console wich can be used like atleast 2 years? They are releasing consoles like everyday. And WTF how many times have they maken MARIO over and over again for there new consoles. WTF cant they come up with something new? And damn Ps2 has 40 times more games then gamecube. And for you nintendo fans this is for you "GO f**k YOURSELFS".

Dear forums,
a pda is not a pc. PERSONAL DIGITAL ASSISANT (PDA) and PERSONAL COMPUTER (PC)
And a gameboy is not a pc either. pc's have multiple functions, a gameboy only has one.
Anonymous at 22:38 10/8/2004
my laptop can go anywhere a game boy can go; except for maybe my pocket.
Anonymous at 9:14 10/8/2004
lucky to have japanese games? thats all they had to start with. so i really wouldnt call them lucky.
Anonymous at 22:45 9/8/2004
DS is lucky to have Japanese games for starters. Imagine having mostly American games. It's like a handheld Xbox lmao! *cough* Xbox sucks! *cough*
jimbo at 22:41 9/8/2004
anonymous below me, you know what fuctard is trying to say and what he meant by 'pc'. if you categorized anything that's computerized as a pc then my automatic toaster is a pc to you. looks like you're the dumb one afterall.
Anonymous at 9:42 9/8/2004
a pda is a handheld pc - therefor classifiing as a handheld. However by the definition of pc, the gameboy is a pc as well. So 23:52 - you are indead a fuctard, thanks for the reassuring name.
FUCTARD at 23:52 8/8/2004
Yes Thay Can PDA is a pc to you know ?????
Anonymous at 10:7 8/8/2004

LOL little kids, i will say again, i'm not a fan boy for any of these companies. I'm a hardcore PC gamer, and these are just my thoughts.

MaXiMuS at 21:26 7/8/2004
Cant all of you people just wait til everything is out, and alot of games are still in the making, RPG Games will soo n come up!
megagames at 21:25 7/8/2004
With games like these...
D3PUBLISHER INC. - Action Game
GAME ARTS CO., LTD. - New RPG
Jamsworks Co., Ltd. - New board game
etc.
Sony better watch out, nintendo is on the hunt! rawr!
Nintendo did it again, more crappy titles. PSP will own this shit. Its true that games on nintendo handhelds are for little kids or adults with small/imature minds.
Tom Arnold at 17:3 7/8/2004
The thing is that the gameboy was always marketed towards children. It's a solid machine but it won't ever break into mainstream adult market. It looks like Nintendo is trying to do that with the DS but I think the PSP will be more popular among adults.
Basically the PSP is the shit! Not only does it support great big games, but it also plays music and movies. The DS has a touchscreen, which is a cheap gimmick. Nintendo said that it would be innovative, but they themselves couldn't even implement it properly into their demos at E3.
And to Anonymous at 13:53, where did you get those price figures from or is that your estimate? I personally haven't heard of any official prices being released. Who knows, sony might surprise everyone with a low price just like they did with the psOne. And that low price helped psOne crush the sega saturn.
Anonymous at 14:9 7/8/2004
ofcourse Nintendo DS will put the competition to shame.
Anonymous at 13:53 7/8/2004
It will fare extremely well against the PSP. If not better. Reason? The DS will almost certainately be cheaper. Almost $100US cheaper. And as the past has shown, cheaper hardware especially with hand-held gaming has always won the war. Always. The very reason GB has always inched out all other hand-helds even though the GB was inferior in gameplay and graphics and sounds compared to all it's direct competitors. Except one area. Price. Expect this to continue unless Sony changes it's original stance that it also wants to make a profit off the hardware and decides to cut the price of the PSP and take a hit on that hardware. If not, you will see the DS making more sales. $250US+ for the PSP compared to the $150US DS. Good luck Sony. Be smart. Drop the price lower.
Anonymous at 11:34 7/8/2004
The DS sure looks a hell of a lot better than all of the pictures showed a few months ago. I hope that Nintendo stops only supplying games that are geared at people under the age of 10. This system has a lot of potential (and, apparently, a lot of support). It will be interesting to see how this fares against the PSP.
