Its a good thing you guys are all experts on how the game industry works.
Im the only one who knows that Atari is secretly making a big comeback to the game arena.
They are coming out with a 256 bit version of the Atari 2600.
It will have beefed up graphics but the games will all play exactly the same.
Want to play E.T. with surround sound and 256 bit graphics?

Chances are we will all own all three next gen systems anyways.
Everytime a new system gets launched everyone goes bonkers.
It doesnt matter because in the end you will be making them rich so you can bitch about it all you want.
I just hope the next x-box has more innovation going for it.

Seriously though, I think it is obviously a very powerful system and thats not what always matters.
What matters is having great games and if the new x-box has great games then common sense says it will not fail.
You can have all the pretty graphics you want and thats all happy and good but gameplay is what really makes the difference.
Also having interesting characters and a good plotline helps too.
Of course those things depend on what genre they come from.
I had no idea the controller was wireless.
Thats good news but the bad news is buying new batteries for it.
I hope the batteries can be re-charged or if there is an option to just hook up the controller the old fashioned way.
What makes you think the other next gen systems cant change their specs before launch?
PS3 and Nintendo Revolution are coming out sometime next year.
I think that might be enough time to slip in one or two changes even if they are minor ones.
Its not like they dont have the money to do it.

Either ps2 or nr can change any specs of there system as of now and prolly still make their release"just like how people said ati went to the drawing boards to have 16 pipe lines when they found out the 6800 had 16. everyone thought ati was only going to have 12... ati would be alot slower... but because nvidia released the spec's on the 6800 before ati did, ati had a chance to change things. that is not true! for the play station 3 to just do basic things like add more ram or just a faster cpu will require new contracts to be made, changing production lines, etc... none of this in the real world takes a few days (months to years). yes you might think go with 512 over 256, but you just got a company to start to make the 256 mb of ram, getting everything set up for a large (and for a few years) order. yes they need to start making some of the parts now. what does this company do with the the old order that was started??? it is sometimes to much work to change things.

The specs say the Xbox360 will have support for 4 wireless controllers and the console will have 3 USB2.0 ports. The detachable 20GB HDD will be included by default from the information we received. The Xbox 360 face plates will be customizable
All games will have full support for the 16:9 format , 720p and 1080i HDTV and anti-aliasing.Xbox360's IBM CPU will have 3 symmetrical cores running at 3.2 GHz each with 1 MB L2. Each core has 2 hardware threads and one VMX-128 vector unit. Enough to boost an impressive 9 billion dots per second.
The ATI GPU will run at 500MHz with 10 MB embedded DRAM (256 GB/s memory bandwidth) and contain 48 parallel floating-point shader pipelines.
System memory will probably be 512MB of GDDR3 RAM (at 700 Mhz) with 22.4 GB/s memory interface bus bandwidth and 21.6GB/s frontside bus bandwidth.
The Xbox360 will also have a mulitchannel surround output.

I really hope that isn' the finalized controller design. It look similair buu i think they should just stick with a wireless type S controll. i gotten to used to a type S I can't even use a duke anymore and I don't want to have to learn again. Nintendo and Sony both have protypes ready same as mircosoft and sony will be show casing the Ps3 at E3 however i fear that this may make the product of poorer quaility. Oh yes and the DreamCast was a kickass console.

If they launch their system before everyone else then that just buys Sony and Nintendo some time to improve their systems beyond what the x-box 360 has.
MTV is a shitty way to promote a new system anyways.

The controller has been somewhat modified and looks kind of dumbed down from the previous one.
Since the only reason anyone is going to buy one is because of Halo 3 they might as well just call it Halo Box or some stupid shit like that.
I hope this system has a longer life than the previous one.

Everyone I know that bought a PS2 had to buy a new in within 4-18 months of purchase. As for XBOX, 2 of the 8 that I know of have failed. And they could of replaced the dvd drive with a compatable PC version and flash the bios. When my good friend's PS2 failed after 5 months Sony said they will gladly fix it for $120. What a deal!

Ok, my beefs:
1).The side view pic: Why would the words 40GB be on the HD? Other then to identify it as the HD. And you mean to tell me it just clips in somehow? I don't think so.
2.) The front view pic: AWESOME. If they keep this I'll be pleased. Looks like a futuristic DVD player and not some....
3.)...MONSTROSITY! The pic of that thing on the table? Good lord....what in the hell is THAT supposed to be? Ugliest thing EVER. And why in God's name put a handle on it?! No, two handles?! The gamecube had a handle, cause it was a cutesy little purse looking thing. In short, it worked, and look at it now? It's the sleeper hit of the consoles. Guys that play XBOX have hands and can carry the damn thing. We don't need frigging handles to prance around with it.
4.) And finally I like how EVERY game site is making a connection between these three pics. THEY'RE NOT EVEN THE FREAKING SAME!
The side view is a fake. My computer doesn't have 120GB written across the front of it. Besides someone else mentioned this before. The CD tray open button on the side view pic and the front view pic don't even face the same way!
The front view pic? Hopefully it's real. But since companies LOVE ugly sh*t, it's probably just a desgin concept.
And that middle pic? FUGLY! It doesn't resemble the other two pics at ALL!!! Note to Microsoft, if THIS is the XBOX 360, it WILL get played with a paper bag over it!!!

Damn about time the controllers are wireless. I dont think it would be anymore expensive than controllers that are avaiable right now. I think $35-39 a pop.This thing again will be a hacker dream because of the hard disk and power. Xbox mod scene is looking foward this console and when is released they will tear this apart to see whats inside. This will run Linux reaaaaally smooth! ;) This will come in 2 versions. One with HD the other w/o HD. The Xpod thing will be too expensive. They would need to make it like 1-5gb to make it competitive i the market. 20gb? I dont think so. And for all the ppl who say this is crap and shiet like that, dont be such a hater loser and say whats cool then to see where you have your tastes. In the middle of your ass? I think so... ;P

at 22:48 24/4/2005 what is your console of choice? PS2? If so...i personally i am tired of GTA3 rehases on the PS2. The PS2 pumps out so many shovelware titles it's unbelievable. Please tell us what GREAT games the PS2 has BESIDES GTA3????? Which plays better on the PC anyways. And as for the XBOX failing. I figure ending in 2nd place with MS first entry into the console race with less then 4 years experience is pretty damn good. You figure the XBOX2 will have even greater success. You're just another 12 year old fanboy.
