Some awesome games for the PC.Civilization 1,2,3,doom,1,2,3,quake,1,2,3,unreal tournament whole package,delta force,joint operations,black hawk,half life 2,almost all F1,tdm 1,2,gta all,serious sam,simcity all,caesar 1,2,3 duke nukem,command&conquer,even mortal combat looks and plays much better as on 16 bit consoles,there are also plenty of emulators which can emulate the games perfectly well,and with tv out and a firestorm they gave the same feeling as you would play it on a console with the difference that you can store all roms on a single cd,yayks.Not to mention that internet sucks balls on a console ass the movies and the music.Consoles are just shity castrated pc's for the dumb mob.

My friend ran DOOM 3 on full settings on a Nvidie Geforce 5700 FX, 512 MB RAM, and a Pentium 4 3.0 GHz

king cobra, u dont understand the concept about a pc. Its not just for playing games, but all the games are better for PC if u have them. I dont care about sitting on a couch, my really nice comfy chair is just perfect. And the Halo thing, u made it sound like Halo is the only game that uses 2 anaolog sticks or something... I know how u move, i DO have an xbox and halo u retard. And for the new equipment on a pc, its worth it, because there are so many more things a pc can do. When u buy a game now days, games that are on consoles and pc either have better gfx for a pc cause its better, or the gfx are held back because the consoles suck. and the 12.95 a month, u only have to pay that for MMO's, something consoles dont have. ANY other online game is free to play as long as u have internet connection. Xbox Live is just a really gay way to make money by making u pay to have u play a game online...once again, u dont have to do that for PC games, its $0.00 a month and $0.00 a year to play a NORMAL game

Even if I have a ton of games I dont play entirely all of them. The vast majority are originals minus some obscure japanese releases that unless you DL them you have to pay $100 from an importer.The same happens to XBOX. I use Xbox Live quite a lot and let me tell you is far better and organized than any network option a PC game have. All the online titles, a single network. In PC you pay $12.95 for a single title montly while Xbox live is $39.95 for ALL the games for A YEAR. Having a single propietary console is also good becasue you get organized and developers alwyas do tricks to get the most of the avaiable technology. PCs throw new card every 6 montys and developers get lazy. They can program to get the most out of a moderate PC but BIG BUCKS from ATI/ NVIDIA just dont get the most of them. The PC market is very expensive and with the new market model will get even more expansive... If you want PC thats your problem. Lets see how far you can stretch your dollar in order to play "the way it was meant to be played"...

I think you refer to playing in a couch... let me explain, TVs usually have a couch or common area in front of them that is confortable enough to watch a movie and dont fell the pain associated with sitting in a desk with your hand recieving stress from the position you asume while using a PC. Back, neck, wrists and other pains in some years you will face.

hmmm becasue in halo you use the left analog to do WASD and the right analog to provide the mouse movement. note that with analog sticks you can push them a little and you walk, push them all the way and you run. You dont need to hit shift or whatever to walk. A button less to hit ;-)

And i hope u know, with the new consoles that have g70's, and r520's and cell processors etc, this isnt going to be no $200-$300 anymore...its gonna be quite a bit higher than that...Yes i have a ton of copied pc games, but not even CLOSE to how many copied games u have for xbox and ps2. I do buy a large portion of my games though. I only copy/download the ones i nvr planned on getting in the first place. Those are usually the ones i dont like

Theres also a such thing as a wireless keyboard + mouse, and ur pretty stupid if u like a gamepad better than a mouse. Try and frickin aim with a little joysticks lol. $10 if u put take a game such as CS, and plug a controller in one of the conputers and playw ith it, the person on the mouse+keyboard would WASTE u no contest.
7) the reason there are more games for console is because a vast majority of pc gamers pirate their games, and a vast majority of console gamers cant...walla. They make a TON more money off consoles games...not like u would ever know something like that since u steal all ur games

in fact, the sales for consoles are far higher than for pc-games, but don't forget the important factor of piracy here. while you can get many games even before they are realeased as a leaked beta, or a prerelease from another country, orfrom a pressrelease, console owners will have to wait. so unpatient fans will do anything to get the game and thus are more used to use pirated copies.
and there are far more sources for pirated pc-games then for copied console games. many console-gamers aren't that experienced with pc either and thus chances are high they don't even know that and where they can dl console games.

4) Console games can also be downloaded and burned into DVD-Rs and you dont need expensive technology to do that. Just a tutorial and some wits. I have nearly 200 PS2 Games and 80 Xbox games.
5) Keyboard + Mouse better than a D-Pad? LOL try doing a hadoken in a keyboard. With a controller you can play in bed, couch, floor , stading up etc... With key+Mouse you must use the desk and in time you will develop pain in hands and back. Today controllers are made to ergonomically fit your hand and have all the buttons accesible to the instant touch.
6) FPS, RTS, MMoRPS are good genres dont get me wrong, but they are not the only ones. Dhaos

i aslo believe i heard somewhere that consoles run resolutuion of 640x480 (but can obviously go up). The default res is that, but on games such as halo can detect high res tv's and go up to 1280x760 if i remember correctly. I have no expirience with a ps2 though because they suck, but i know for a fact no console out uses 4x aa and 8x af...thats impossible for a console to perform, it would literally break unless ur playing pong or something

Consoles have crapy gfx.I remember how some console fanboys tried to convience me,that the console gfx are realy only 640x480 but with 4aa and 8af.That for the gfx on consoles should be like 1024x786.But when i watched a game from any console,i could see the jaggines.So the fanboys lied or were owned by the corporations saying crap,and some dumbos believe it.Im pretty sure that any g2 has better gfx than xbox's like g3.Dont forget the higher non interlaced resolutions.So if you wanna play some console games,get a emulator and knock yourself with a cps1 cps2 game out.

lol, i was just about to correct myself about the NV / G change, i remembered a post on that, they renamed it G because it was considered a very large difference form the NV models.However you seem to missunderstand my post on models. You say R500 chip, i was saying that the number will be either or superior to R520. Not that the card wasn't R5xx as you should have written, rather than 'the R500'. Current speculations are that the G70 will come out quite stronger than the ATI R520, which doesn't mean they are speculated at about the same.

TheKoolGuy, it's pretty much guarenteed that the R500 chip will be in the XBOX2. They have no plans on using the R420 chipset as MS wants the XBOX2 to be compatible with PS3.0 protocol. The R4xx chips do not support it. As for the NV70 as you calim. The intial name for it, and it will change is indeed the G70. apparently the ps3 might show some nice emulation tricks because of the flexibility of the cpu and pc likeness of the gfx card.But it's not always true that there are just as good pcs. The CELL is better than any chip out now or planned this year etc. The graphics will probably be similar however. The ps2 was a duel cpu 300mhz 128-bit core (by duel u cud sned instructions 2 diff bits) because it used a 128bit core and was very efficient, it competed in power with pcs until the 1.2ghz pentium3. which is why it can compete with the xbox.

not bad. could be better. and there's already been xbox 360 pics come out that look better. but yes, it is good to see the companies focus on what is important which is gameplay, and they've done this with thier focus on the CPU of thier machines. Now i don't believe cell will replace PC cpu's (at least not AMD :P ). Last of all, let us not forget at the heart of the whole graphics issue, it's really just ATI vs Nvidia again, and maybe we'll have a better idea of what's in store when PC users get the cards that these consoles will be based on. BTW King Cobra way down there, I don't know about you but I own a PC and consoles. And i'm afraid your missing out if you think one or the other is all you need to experience good gaming.

... lots of stupid comments on this whole thread....anyways, PC and console have great games, that is why i have both. there are games that suck on PC mouse and keyboard, while other are better on controller and such. People tend to forget that when a console launches its more powerful than pcs, cause all its hardware is optimized for grafix and gaming only no other thingies. just see what the xbox is capable of... and it has a freaking @#$ celeron petnium 3 700mhz blend.... unified shared ram of 64 megs.... now imagine 256 or 512 improved ram, 3+ghz 64 bit porcessor and latest gfx optimized...... that is some serious power. both consoles and PC are good, saying one is better is complete crap. I would change most pc games for Armored Core series... then again i would not want to play Counter source on consoles etc. ps3 will be more powerful than average high end pcs, it will be highly efective for multitask and the latest nvidia card cannot be crap like FX series so at least for a year it will be top notch. I own all 3 consoles, and a good enough pc(AMD64 3200+, 512ram,Radeon 9600 O/C'd) so at least i dont carry biased shit.

to pro develope on most consoles, they can use a pc but it has a built in connection / boards to the actual hardware their programming for. So it gives them extra resources to debug etc but allows them to see the exact results.

The thing is, if you look at screenshots from other games, the graphics really varie. You can tell by the low polygons in some games. The shaders seem awsome tho. Don't forget, the ps3 basically has a geforce 7 gfx card, so it cant be that bad. Games are in an early stage of delvelopement, and so none use the ps3's full potential. It can support imense ammount of objects and individual mobs / patterns etc. That's anothrgreat aspect of realism that a pc o ps2 or xbox just cant handle. consoles r fun and less troublesome than pc's. However they will always have lesser power. maybe 360>ps3 maybe the other way around. You cant say such things only because youre an xbox or ps fan. Anyways even if cell becomes a revolution or the new xbox processor, only a few months and pc's will again take the crow wiht another gen of hardware. COnsoles however take a few years to switch gen, so they are always behind in the long run.

Few comments. R500 is basicly same as R520 coming for PC. I'd assume its stripped for lower prices aswell as optimized to work with Xbox hardware such as its eDRAM.I strongly dislike consoles. I'm a PC user and can not afford a console. People who think I'll get a console with a value of 3 PC's for 500$ - impression that Sony and microsoft will try to give, will pay 500$ now, and 40$ for every next game they buy. All this download halo 2 maps and pay shit. +anti piracy ? no modding ? There are SAT services offered, get a dish, subscription and a tuner for 1$ or less. Amazing offer ? xbox, ps2 and gamecube render games differently than pc. Thats why tyey dont play good. Xbox uses DirectX, but its a special version made specifically for it, and isnt the same as the pc version. So having someone make a program that emulates the xbox directx rendering is going to be hard. All those complaining, go try and make one urself...thought so u cant. It is the same with ps2 and gamecube, but those dont even use directx. It makes it harder to make it render something different. Conclusion: Console games arent emulated well because they arent rendered the same as pc!!!

Kobra, not all P.C. games are like that, though I will admit that the past few P.C. games to come out haven't been the best, but what about the already good games that are out. I'll give you 5 that don't fall in line with those:1: Fallout Series, a brilliant storyline with great gameplay, though old, I myself never considered graphics making a game. In order for a game to truly shine, it needs good gameplay and storyline. 2: Xcom Series, an early but great strategy series, though not as strategic as Starcraft or Command and Conquer, it is still good. 3: Thief series, thief is one of the greatest stealth/action games I've ever played, next to Metal Gear series, and it still continues to send chills up my spine, and since you didn't exactly specify what kind of gun, that should eliminate thief from your list because you get a bow, not a gun. 4: Secret of Monkey Island, a great puzzle game with an interesting storyline, though its tough, its not impossible. 5: Heroes of Might and Magic series, another great strategic series that only requires the intelligence of an eight year old to play, that is assuming that you older than eight Kobra. A nice blend of strategic combat with rpg gameplay, its a shame its license had to be sold, watch Ubisoft, who know owns the license, not even use it, just like what EA did to Dungeon Keeper and System Shock. I've always been a fan of both console and pc. And as for Ninja Gaiden, DMC, FF10, etc, those can be made for P.Cs. also, though I am unsure as to why SquareEnix hasn't made a FF for the P.C. in years (poor sales maybe?). But whatever the case, only time will tell if these next gen consoles truly defeat consoles.

Blag... PC gamers ENVY consoles. Why? PC gamers in all these years all they got is FPS, RTS, MMRPGs... They are good genres but its time for a change... PC will never see an action title like Ninja Gaiden or Devil May Cry, or an RPG like Final Fantasy 10 or Kingdom Hearts, or a good racing game like Gran Turismo 4...All you get is different themed DOOM clones. World War 2, futuristic etc... its all the same... Also RTS since Star Crft made million of dollars now every company have a clone with a different theme... stupid and old... What about MMORPGs? Since everquest ppl have been wasting time in those glorified chat rooms with some action elements... But the PC

this is for ps people not for cuked up idiotic xobox/microosft lovers.
obviously you have not had a look at the ps3's specs which are going to far outstrip and console and maybe even any pc!
this thing has lots of potential only thing is i believe that ibm may be currently working on brining this tech to pc which means that amd and intel have alot of work to do or have to spend alot of money for the tech.

i think this time things might be a bit different...i dont mean graphics wise..of cource the pc wil catch up in 6 months..but the cell processor i believe may even substitute intel and amd..it seems to be VERY strong..we will just have to wait and see

how shit, a shitty rendered model on a black background?They should stop f**king around and post something that's actual ingame. Nearly as lame as posting FMV screenshots. I mean if your going to show screenshots, make sure they are either worth posting, or reveal gameplay elements. Pointless.
