XBox 360 To Launch for USD 299

HL2 is a great game on PC, dont care if its good on Xbox or not, i prefer my PC to any console anyway and im not buying a game i already own. Since when was Xbox Live monthly? There are no good PS2 games online, and to be fair i dont believe there are many online for Xbox either, PC is still the best for online games. GTA is not the best game ever, by no means. And Tekken 4 is not a great game, its an average beat em up with no features that make it stand out from the rest. You pick a boring looking character with boring moves and fight in boring arenas, its the average arcade game you play on for a brief moment at the cinema waiting for a film to start. And another thing, i didn't call all of those games crap, i called GTA crap simply because it is (storyline is shite, character is gay, gameplay gets old after 2 hours, graphics suck, and is totally stupid really). MGS is one of my all time favourite games, i enjoy the sequels but i believe theyre now cash cows and are just being milked to the extreme. At no point did i say the MG games were crap. I merely said the truth, theres to many of them and used that to backup my opinion that there aren't enough original games out (its more of a fact though it seems). At least read my damn post properly before you tell me im wrong, especially when it is you who is wrong. I took a look over the last couple days on what microsoft had up their sleaves and i'm a little unimpressed with the release titles for that system. Not sure what Nintendo has cooking but so far im not impressed with the fact they keep touting they will be releasing 200+ ancient games. That sure doesnt impress me or anyone. You'd have to be a die hard fan of nintendo or a 5 year old kid to be impressed with what nintendo has ready. As for this controller. Unless its a virtual 3d headset that will make all next gen games display in 3d and not require a HD monitor like one will need to get the beifits of the xbox360 i see no hope for nintendo.... I truely believe the xbox360 is not powerful enough to make gaming much better than what can already be done on xbox. Playstation 3 has the power and since i know they have game companies galore backing the system, i have hopes playstation 3 will change the way games look and play all at once. PS3 will have MGS,Gran Turismo,GTA (XBOX might get GTA too), Tekken, SOCOM, and maybe Resident Evil?? It seems Sony gets the good games from 3rd party publishers. I dont have a next gen console preference yet (as i haven't played them yet) but my last gen preference was the Xbox, everyone speculated itd be a complete screw up, but it the most impressive online multiplayer system and definitely brought the word innovation a new meaning in terms of consoles. But as usual the other companies will be copy catting them with online features now. Game wise i dont think anyone can call the shots with the release lineup. Xbox 360 will have mainly sequels and a few original games, great lets slag it off for having sequels now shall we? But why not slag PS3 off as well? ok so Xbox has some sequels, PS3 seems to look like it has sequels of sequels of sequels! MGS4? that'll be the 7th Metal gear game! (MG, MGS, MGS:VR Missions, MGS2, MGS Substance, MGS 3 Snake Eater). What else? Oh yes, Tekken! probably the worst beat em up game EVER (even clay fighters was better), that'll be the 5th game! Everyone bangs on about how Xbox is milking Halo when its only got 2 games released at the moment, and a 3rd coming up...what about GTA? And for anyone on about the specs of the 360 and the specs of a PC, the only way you can get that kind of CPU power out of a PC is if you get 3 Intel Xeon Multiple CPUs, the cost of which is 10 times more than the Xbox 360. I admit the xbox did have some good exclusives, namely ninja gaiden, halo and such unfourtunately there wasn't enough for me to purchace a whole new console for. the problem i have this version of the xbox is the fact that a) the xbox360 won't be the most powerful (which is forgivable) and b) will have the same problem and the first one, lack of abundance of quality exclusives. Sure the xbox360 will have a very mature online system but don't you think the other companies will too? There is no point in fighting which is more powerful, why? because they are all going to be powerful machines and most won't be able to use the capabilities as alot won't be able to purchace a hdtv, well at least initially. All three consoles are good on paper so it comes down to which games you prefer. I prefer games like metal gear solid and gran turismo so naturaly i go with ps3 but some others might not like those, and like halo and dead or alive for ecxample. My point is they all have a place in the console arena. Sure the hardware is there to run high tech console games like Halo2 or Republic Commando, but you're going to spend well over $2000 on hardware for a PC like that. I agree with the guy below. I watched all of the demos for xbox360 and came to the conclusion they just werent next generation titles. They all looked like games that could easily be done on the xbox period. I also was wow'd by Sonys machines pure power and the fact they said at e3 games will look very much like the demos displayed at e3 gives me much hope that finally games will start becoming more realistic and less cartoonly like weve all seen for the last 10 years. I own an xbox already, I'm sick of Halo enough is enough. I want something new and something interesting. The halo story is getting old. The only console so far to show any demos of games that look new generation are from sony playstation 3's machine. There is always hope i say. They're making the games together (kinda like how they did the last 2 matrix movies). Obviously majority of the emphaisis was on HAlo2 during the first 3 yrs of production however (as u can tell from the end of Halo2) the story for the next game has most definetly been written, they'd be using a modified version of the Halo2 graphics engine (can't remeber wat its called). All they'd b doing now is creating all the new content and features (they prob started on this shortly after they finished Halo2). All the hard and time consuming programming is out of the way and i'm guessing all music story etc would be nearly finshed. Thats how they're gonna release the game wen the ps3 comes out. It is an imposibility to make a quality game for a next-gen console in a 1-2 yrs. On whether xbox360 is > ps3.
