the average sales are not for parents to kids but to 18 to 35 year olds.the average kid gets a game on his/her birthday, christmas and maybe one or two more if he or she is good. yes, yes i know about renting but to MS, sony or NS renting is little money. now the average 24 to 34 (in most cases married or living with someone, owns a new car, rent or bought a place. etc...) will buy one game per month on average. this is who they make there money on. remember i am talking about average, in most cases, the norm, etc... the next gen systems are not for the poor, or the parent who wants the best baby sitter. it is for the collage graduate who is working and does not want to watch another crappy movie or reality tv show. he or she just wants to spend a few hours playing a game with a group of friends to pass the time.

guy 2 below mei guarentee u none of 360's next gen games will require a hard drive. Microsoft and developers would be smart enough to realize that it is a really bad idea to force ppl to get a hard drive to play a game, which would also lower sales on games requiring it.

keep also in mind if you do not get the hard drive you can not play all of the next gen games... some games like "Halo 3" will need the hard drive to play. so some of your nex gen games will not play with out a hard drive. so what games will work??? lets just say the more they push the console the more likely you will need a hard drive.

Microsoft screwed it up good again. They tried to copy the strategy sony used with the ps2 (early release date, less hardware power, price) but just messed it up with the price and hardware bit. Although still cheaper the x360 wont have a decent price advantage if you consider the features included.

So let me get this straight... For $400 I get an x360 that plays both xbox and xbox 360 games, for 300 i get an xbox 360 only machine, and for more than 300 i get a ps3 that plays ps2 games.... I dont see the difference or problem. Of course ps3 could be 300 and play both sets; in which case its a different story. But I think its gonna be the same cost ratio between x360 with the HD and the ps3...
