*pokes annoying kids with fanboy-poking-stick*Are there any screenshots around for this 64-bit version? I'm curious. The 32-bit version already looks too awesome.

phew,i'm glad AMD released these AMD 64bit chips actually. Things were looking a little grim for AMD for a while there with the pentium 4 looking slightly attractive.

i cant wait for anything new cause my 3200+ is getting old and i want to upgrade it. the 64bit athlons are looking good but the fx chips are looking better. i wanted the best gaming system out there. i was thinking about getting an athlon 64 3400+ but i want to be able to overclock it hardcore. at the moment i have my 3200+ sitting at 2.4ghz on fan forced so i am happy. will the new fx chips accomodate larger clock speeds?.2.8ghz? that would be nice. i would like to have both the newest p4 and the fx 53 and benchmark them myself before i judge them. but farcry is optimised for 64b so why not go cheap and overclock later 64b3200+?

You obviously don't look at the benchmarks. Unless you have a FX-53 overclocked u r not beating the 3.4EEAnd you will never beat an intel at video encoding period.

I have an AMD64 and it smokes EVERY intel that I have laid my eyes on. I just love how Intel had to make the "Extreme Edition" to try and compete with the A64's LOL. As if they had a chance, AMD is the new king.. Intel needs to bend over and take it up the ass HAHAHAHAHA

if ur smart, havent much money and want a stable fast processor - buy amd. if u want to be laught at, have way to much money - buy an overheating slow intel. period.

the new verison of the amd prosesor will be the same type they will be compatible ""Neither platform is really likely to stand the test of time: while Intel will replace Socket 478 with Socket 775, AMD will phase out Socket 940 in favor of Socket 939 in the next quarter, which will be able to accommodate both the Athlon64 and the faster FX. Nevertheless would-be purchasers of an FX system shouldn't be left out in the cold: AMD's grand plan envisages even faster processors for Socket 940, ""

intel is great amd is great too, acording to statistics amd breaks up 10 times more than intel also intel is more cooler but amd mb's provide better overclocking functions. both companies are great like nvidia and ati, it is good that there are two main manufacturers of cpus on the markets so customer wins ;) i have my 2.8c p4 and i am very happy with it. my friend has amd and he is hapy with it so whats the problem? if you want stable system buy intel if you want faster cpu buy amd for the same price. one thing wich sucks on amd's is pr, they never measure it right :(

Man I heard that this chip runs like sh#$ on Windows XP and the only thing that really runs it well is Linux. AMD and Intel sorta like Mercedes and BMW ...both good!!

Why anyone would waste their money on any top-of-the-line processor is beyond me!! :) Spend 50% less for a CPU 15% slower... and then upgrade twice as often!

What makes this chip attractive to buy(if you have that sort of coin) Is the simple fact that the AMD64 fx-53 is faster then Intels latest and greatest. And the kicker. The AMD chip is almost $300 cheaper! And it's 64 bit comaptible. Why anyone would buy a INTEL chip at this time is beyond me....

1 thing to say mi athlon XP 2600 is a little bit faster than my neibor p4 2.5, BUT !!! it cost me $98 usd. and the P4 cost him $180, hahahahaha, talking about gaming, for dvd decoding the p4 is faster. :(

WHat should I pick, A AMD Fx-53, or Intels p4 EE, If you look at the benchmarks, AMD beats THE P4 in pretty much all THE games, BUT the P4 beats AMD in pretty much useless aps. OH, well the P4 must cost less the AMDs chip, right? WRONG, Its about 50$ more. AMD,plain and simple, kicks intels ass, then rapes it!!!

Intel just sucks. Look at the benchies they only out power AMD in a a few usless programs. Acoriding to Maximum PC the Athlon 64 FX 51 even out preformed the "Prescott" by far in Floating point calc. take that INTEL

I wouldn't upgrade just yet. There's 2 big new changes coming this year The amd64 and pci-express. Right now they have only released amd64's to the general market but wait till summer when you can get a new mainboard with 64bit processing and pci-express so that you can get a matching video card and really take advantage of this whole 64bit dealy. By that time there should be ample software to make it worth it too.

Some people did not understand that the war for 64 bits is not a game play for AMD. This is the last jump to the course for having now a chance to get 64 Bits computer for lowest price than intel can do. In fact, intel was so surprised by the new technology applied by AMD for 64 and 32 bits compatibility. And no other processor can do the same, because it is simply hardcoded. That is not an emulation that can be done on 64 bits platforms. So this kind of processor is much more perfomant than any other one, including the next powered generation of Intel Prescot processor that is trully not annouced with 32 Bits instructions assembly. The truth is that AMD did not give you only one processor, but two real processors mounted in one architecture. And when using the 64 bits architecure, the 32 bit one is also working for the 64 one using advanced flags for the memory controls. No one did that. So please don't say that intel is getting 95% of the market. Its false. They are losing between 10 to 15% of market piece every years because of their so bad motherboard products, and also for the very expensive price of their processors without any performance gain expected by the hypertreading (Emulating two processors will never accelerate any physical processor - Do you beleive that your car engine divided buy two will provide you more power and performance ?).

lol, but AMD sets the standards for what and how processors are made. it doesn't get pushed around as hard as intel chipsets...but definitely does more work. and clearly, that's all that matters. don't forget the damn price either...you can toss bragging rights out the window with ur in the near-future prescott...because amd'll come out with something faster to jump tails. and as of this moment, this processor is the fastest on the planet @ 2.6Ghz, topping out the P4 3.4Ghz XE.

Lol awwww poor intel haters, it will be ok....you will make it even though intel is worth 200 million and Amd is worth 5 million, you will make it that the fact is that 95 percent of the market is still owned by intel, you will make it that when the prescott goes 64 in the next couple months with a mamoth clock speed that it has it will burn AMD to the ground, and guess what it will do it using AMD's own instructions. Dealing your own death is bliss.
