I've got a mate who has a 6800 ultra and i have an x800xt pe. To be perfectly honest i'm happy we aren't anything like you people or we would have killed eachother by now. Considering only 10-15 titles even run in sli mode, please tell us why people should spend $1200US on the setup when there are hubdred's of hundred's of games that do not run compatible with sli. Every single game needs a specific profile for it to run in sli mode. If not, the game runs as a single card setup. And in some cases even slower as it takes memory bandwidth from both cards to a lesser degree. However, that is not of a major concern as both technologies are still in it's infancy. Only 15-16 applications even use SLI and 1-2 games partially use PS3.0. You will not see one game until Unreal 3 fully implement PS3.0. Even with Farcry, PS2.0b runs it the same. As a matter a fact, ATI cards still run it faster. PS3.0 has proved to be a 60 million transistor waste of time for now. As for sli, this has very little if no impact at all. Because sli requires every single game aor application to have a different profile, 1000's of games of the past and even many current ones do not support it. $1000US for that? Sli is the wave of the future or Dual chips, whatever you want to call it. However, becuase the technology is so new and the support is so little, by the time it becomes fully operational, ATI will have their version up and running this year on a new macarhitecture. One inwhich has 24 pipelines+ and increased ememory and core speeds. Just one R520 will run faster then 2 6800Ultra's even with the required sli profiles.
