I prefer gameplay to graphics, cuz thats what a game is about. Sure a nice looking environnement is cool but I'm not buying a 400$ card so I can play at max settings(or a quad-core :S).

Whereas in the meantime while I'm doing those I suggest you find some performance benchmarks for the Kentfield processor being used for threaded gaming. You will notice no performance gain on games that don't support threading, fyi.

Umm.. Whats so good about the graphics in Alan Wake again? They look pretty sub-par to me.
The terrain is chunky and the textures are too repetetive, not even mentioning the trees. No better than Oblivion, Gothic 3 looks much better and still has all the other Bells and wHistles Alan Wake has.

Obviously not old enough to remember naything from the demoscene, the ability to create these effects have been in the hands of any skiled programmers for years, any PS3.0 capable video card carries more than enough pwer to produce those scenes.

Alan Wake is a creation to force people to support not only Quad core but also Direct X 10 and Windows Vista (the latter two being connected by force).Don't buy this game. I havent seen any benchmarks for games using quad cores yet,ive seen apps benchs and quad core seems the way to go with these.I was thinking that if the games use only 2 cores then maybe the other 2 cores would be running the os? Maybe im wrong but its just a thought.
