imagine 2 of these + two r600 (the top end ones) in cross fire, + creatives new sound card + 8gb of ram + 4tb of hdd space.
not a bad machine but i can build one better.....

The Barcelona chip amd is working on is a Killer, it has features like reverse hyperthreading which will not require multithreaded software to make use of all four cores, imagine 4cores running a single application, now thats performance!^---Continued---^

Well I hope this levels the playing field so prices will drop. I don't care if it is Intel or AMD all I want is the best bang for the buck. That is why I haven't upgraded yet.

i dont care about the cache as long as there is at least 2mb cache somewhere.if this chip really does what its meant to id expect to see amd's shareprices go back up to $30+

I'd say scrap the L3 cache and get more L2 per core. Unless its better to have multiple cores shearing the one cache... but I wouldn't suspect so. Intel already has 2MB L2 cache per core I believe?

512kb of L1 and L2, L1 is probably 64kb or 128kb and the rest is L2.
