Seven, you do realise an E6600 (140-200$) is better then amd's FX chips (700$ 0ver).
right now intels got a price advantage thats why the core2duo line of processors are such a hit, you get more bang for your buck.
when Phenom is out, it might surpass the current line of Core Cpu's but once the 45nm versions hit the stores amd's back to 2nd place.

AMD isnt doomed you noobs.anyone saying that is just pissed they spent so much money on crappy Intel technology which wont match up the prices of AMD's new processors. I dont give a s**t if the new Intel processors are better, for the price you pay for the best AMD phenomena, Intel can suck my d**k.

OC'ing a Core2duo to 3ghz shows great performance gains. not only will Wolfdale get a higher clock speed but an increase to the cache making it 6mb L2. Now 45nm means less power consumtion,faster clock speeds,less heat. amd is doomed? i belieave they could be unless the pull something outta thier ass.

Amd isn't gonna make it. Intels already moving to 45nm with thier Wolfdale processors which will be clocking in at 3ghz stock. continued

Now lets face the real facts, intel still has yet to create multi layered cpu that actually holds up against AMD, it's simple really you see while intel claim the dual meets with AMD's x64 standards. It is also fact that Intel has yet to master the ability to create a processor that runs in pure 64bit mode rather than use emulation, 45nm means nothing on paper until its actually tested. I'll believe it when I see it!! AMD all the way :P

Lets face the facts, AMD is going Downhill, Intel will be releasing thier 45nm Wolfdale processors soon with clocks rumoured to be at 3ghz and a 6mb cache. i will be shocked if the Phenom can match the performance of the 45nm Core2duo chips.

look up the 790fx chipset and there are a few mobo's. one from gigabyte, 1 from asus and 1 from msi. i can already get the gigabyte mobo but it sucks.

But I'm cant track down a AM2+ mobo. They will work on an AM2 mobo but not at full speed dut to the HT limitations of the older AM2 platform.
