60FPS is what u want games to hit. Your eye can only see 30FPS. 60 is just a safe place. I've seen games at 30FPS and they look amazing. just a bunch of BS. Can't wait to see the new cards this summer.

anon at 12:46. yet if feels like 60fps. so you fail. not all games need high frame rates to be smooth. I've played some crappy games where they jump about and aren't smooth even at 60 fps

30FPS is piece of Garbage.

besides, lag refers to online slowdowns, so you fail

Anonymous

and thats on just a single 880GTX with an e6600

Anonymous

I can play crysis at 1920x1200 most of the time. the game runs smooth even at 30 FPS, but people seem to not think about things like that. all they see are the numbers

If this single card doesn't play chrisis at 1600/1200 on high settings, lagless, its just another worthless card.

Stop crying, if you were stupid enough to purchase 9 series cards without reading EXACTLY what they were (GTS 512s with a snappy new label) then you deserve to get screwed.

The only ones who bought 9 series cards in the first place was kids who didn't know that they were just g92 rehashes.

your paying a premium idiot! A) we had the ultra like 6 months before the new ATI cards, B)3x8800ultra still smokes anything out there. the ultra is still the best single card, thats what your paying for

hmm...i would say wait...we all got f**ked whit the 9 series and prises.

Im sry to say but the 3870 is great for 175$ card...hell buy 2 and its way cheaper than the Ultra...thats not overclocked.

2 of these on water MAX OC for less than 400$ kills my 9800GTX and my Ultra... i fell like i got f**ked over by nvidia :(

its all about making money fooohh!!!

Wow is it me or did nvidia speed up the release of new generations of cards. I mean we barely heard anything about the GF9 and we're already talking about a new gen. Not to mention GF8s are still strong in the market.

hope xp is supported. I will not buy vista.

$800 naw... it seems to be about $1 per every Mb of Ram. 8800GTX=768Mb ram, started for about $750ish

Anonymous

I bet the high-end models start at nearly $800. :P

Anonymous

I guess I'll wait and see how much these cost before buying the 8800 GT I was planning on getting in a few weeks.

and DX 10.1 is a joke, its basically a stamp from Microsoft that you pay for. all it did was make the use of stream processors and a few other things mandatory, things that the 8's series already did, but didn't get the label for. its all hardware, nothing sofrware

Anonymous

havok is great for software, but thats all it is, is software, its just cant touch dedicated cards. HOWEVER, we have yet to see how it will work in cards, as it will be running on stream processors

even the 8 series will incorporate physx they just need to implement it in drivers

no more shoping for mobo with 2 PCI, now I can finaly instal only an Creative X-Fi with no worry for my space on my mobo. and by the way Ageia rocks, that crappy Havoc F*** up your CPU when it's implemented in strong games like F.E.A.R., Crysis, Half-Life,; many say that the CPU doesn't affect performance in Crysis ... trie to do some heavy psihics ... see how your fps gos from 40-50 to 15-20. Intel is distroing PC gaming with crapy onboard GPU's, heavy havoc psihics ...

incorporate PhysX eh? Very interesting indeed!

I do not think AMD/ATI can keep up. I cant see Radeon 4800 being top of the line stuff. And thats what matters really..most people dont know hwat to buy. They think that if a Geforce 8800GTX is the best then also a 8600GT will be the best in its class.

Can't wait. 1337!
