It's downright pathetic. Everyone i talk to who owns a mac or knows someone with one is dead set on the belief there are *no* malicious programs for them. It's so true, people do believe them. Question is does Apple really want to be shown "what's up"? Again?

first off i've never seen an apple retail outlet or the genius bar but do know a few people who service macs for about £45 per hour!!!!! i service pc's for £12. macs are more expensive across the board but in many cases worth the extra(if you want the extra style). its these baseless claims that anyone could disprove that make me avoid apple at all times. i don't even have an ipod.

Apple is for retarded people. I only remember retards using a mac at school to play kidpix. LOL Apple is aimed at people who want to check their email for $234235235235.87 when they can just do the same with a $400 pc. As for pros, well there is only one program that you need a mac for and that is "Shake". Final cut licks nuts, and adobe has enough software to make up for "Shake".

I think most IT experts, and even consumers know that his statement is false on almost every point. And where it isn't false it is open to debate an interpretation. Macs are more expensive, their marketing either needs to justify it, or live with it as a simple fact.

bulls**t lol 1. good Anti virus software is FREE look at AVIRA ANTIVIR im really surfing at strange sites and never had a virus in 3 years. 2. If i get a nice Notebook for 700 bucks and it dies after 2 years ill have to pay 150 bucks for a diagnosis? ok if you think soo´.... and even if i have to pay that much im still at 850€ i could get another totally new Notebook for 700€, and it would be newer hardware than the old Macbook. CONCLUSION: !!! 2 Notebooks + diagnostics = price for 1 Macbook!!! Apple SUX

What are apple doing? except shooting themselves. No 1 needs norton, it blocks everything, mostly the stuff u need. Besides, if more people start usin mac then mac will get viruses too. You can buy PCs with 3 years warrenty so repairs are free within the 3 years you'll have the c0mputer. You dont need to buy power dvd, if your laptop has a DVD drive, it will have pdvd on, same goes for roxio (DVDRW c0mes with nero). no1 needs a photoshop membership for media use, and no1 needs cubase. Besides all this, programs like cubase can do ALOT more than ilife, cubase can be used to produce and sell music.i think apple have dug themselves a nice hole with this statement

Hmm.. Power DVD? Try VLC Media Player Norton? Try AVG or FreeAV, both have better results and use less ressources. Adobe? Try Gimp works perfectly $699 includes Windows, Free-OS Laptops cost less.. oh well, shows you shouldn't believe everything rich ppl say.

Well, what Apple really should have done shown the actual laptop Jane bought. It's an HP, which means it's a spyware infested, poorly made pile of sh*t... which is about the same for Dell, Gateway, etc. The only way you can get a quality PC that is exactly what you need is to order the parts and build it yourself.

Hey charlie-brown.. "Then there's the hardware, you could get a cheap PC but the hardware would be of a much lower quality, to buy a PC with the same hardware as an apple, you'd pay about the same... maybe a few hundred less."Dude, get your facts right, macs no long run on great hardware, they run on the same standard platforms as any other laptop. Intel 945ish, some core duo, 667 ram by samsung or whatever, 5400rpm hd (lighter, less noise, but slower).. do you really think that apple actually engineer their hardware? no, intel makes the cpu and chipset, seagate or hitachi makes their hd, anyone can make their ram etc... You're just paying a load of money for style, a great OS, longer battery (you could still buy a battery by yourself) and overall looks, thats it, no more no less. I'd rather get myself a copy of mac osx and run it on a kickass pc instead. This whole mac != pc concept is wrong, its just some marketing crap, ... mac = standard hardware + great OS.

Hmm lets see. I paid $1000AUD for the parts for my which I built myself. Q8200 Quad Core 2.44Ghz 2GB Ram 1.5TB HDD Space Total 8800GT 512MB Ram 24" Benq Moniter ThermalTake V9 I use a Avast which is a FREE Anti-Virus software and I'm able to majority of repairs myself. Why would I spend close to $3000+AUD on a Mac that I wont be able to play my games on unless I went to the troubles of also installing XP on the machine

I payed 1400€ for a 20" (1080p) HP HDX last september with a 8800GTS, 4GB of RAM and a T8300 2.4GHz... that's half the price of the advertised MAC, and btw, I thought Mac OS X ran on normal PCs now-a-days, are you retards forgetting your own products now?Oh, and I have about free everything on Windows too, not that PC = Windows... Good hardware? the fastest GPU for the MAC has 2/3 of the fastest GPU for PC at most... battery life? I have two friends whom have had their Mac batteries die... Anything you say from start to finish is a joke, but I guess that goes well with the rest of everything Apple stands for... let's just grab *NIX (BSD) scrue it up and create something for retarded americans... Oh, and before I leave, last tme I checked, experts were saying Mac were a lot less secure than PCs, only not as popular as a target. SO if you don't mind, shove a taper up your butthole and set yourselves alight

Ha! this is Hillarious. You go on the apple website and it claims, that apple makes all the software that OSX uses. This means that (Apparently) there are hardly any instabilities with their programs. (I call bulls*** on that) This means that anyone wanting to get some software has to spend apple's rediculous prices just to get a program that won't f*** up your mac! roflroflrofl. lol. Windows on the otherhand has huge amounts of freeware s**t. A good enough search will get you any program for any purpose on pc for free. Generally aswell the freeware programs are better... Norton?! Avast or AVG, both surpass it! For Muvee reveal and Cyberlink, just get VLC! Or better yet use media player. Its just stupid the way apple have defended themself here. It sounds like they actually believe it... Maybe their ego is that big! (Fishsticks episode of Southpark seems to sum it up perfectly.) anyway. Im. Done... Oh yeah the only good thing he mentions is the genius bar, but anyone who's been in there know's how horrible it is. Everyone's so happy...

i love the way dumbass fans justify to me why they chose apple. Its only good for browsing and removing red eyes from photos. Its a joke. Last time i had a virus was maybe 5 years ago, as PCs have hundreds of times more quality and free programs to dl and try. Mac? Apple store anyone? IT is a machine like ipod to suck more and more and more money out of you. They should just make an ad - if you re an idiot then go for looks and simplicity

Wtf is he thinking... if Mac is as popular as PC(windowsOS), then MacUsers too will need Antivirus... also, I use linux for my PC, i dun feel the need for any AV. And there is free AVs for windows 2... F.U.C.K u apple, 4 ure over-hyped products. I can get PCs with equivalent or better specs than Mac's for half-the price! f**k-off u greedy Apple.

Macs are more expensive, there's no way about it. But when you get used to using them(can be hard at first) you begin to notice the difference. Macs are like a finished product, any given version of windows seems more like a beta OS. Then there's the hardware, you could get a cheap PC but the hardware would be of a much lower quality, to buy a PC with the same hardware as an apple, you'd pay about the same... maybe a few hundred less.

wow thats just retarded.. guess how much i spend on my antivirus? nothing! guess how many times my laptop needs to go in for repair? approx once a year maybe... and that costs very little. 50 to 100 euro if its big.And all this boasting about how Macs dont need antiviruses is going to be the downfall of mac.. just you wait and see.. Some Virus programmer is going to notice the many vulnerabilies that mac has and will destroy it... Mac IS more vulnerable then windows, its just that nobody bothered to write viruses for it.

I usually thought the people at Apple were smarter than that. Obviously most of those charges would be easily tossed out with some optional software choices such as AVG. Macs are overly expensive. Simple as that. They are at least good machines.
