I can't get enough of the movie trailer, I mean the movie seems to have all the key elements from the game and so what if harry isn't in the movie? or any other main char from SH. I mean I'm a SH fan, I love the games. and This movie seem to be a very good movie. I'm really looking forward to watching SH in the teaters.PS: dylan nichols.. you are obviously not the brightest guy out there are you?

I love the Silent Hill games and I became a fan of it since the first game came out on playstation. Which to also note was my favourite out of all 4 games released. I have always been dreaming of the day this game got turned into a movie. But to those of you angry fans I don't think this is supposed to be a Silent Hill 1 remake. This is just a new idea altogether with only some of the characters we remember from the game. You don't see a casting for Nurse Lisa Garland or Dr. Kauffman do you? It's not supposed to be like the first game or everyone would know what happens. I think the storyline looks good and I am happy to see familiar characters and I like the cast. I just hope the movie altogether keeps the feel of Silent Hill and tie everything together and keep the main idea of every Silent Hill. Samael/religious cult/sacraments etc..

Who was Rose in the Games? Didn´t we play a Guy in the games? Not in SH 3. But they are making movie of Silent Hill 1 put Rose is Looking for Sharon? Was her name Sharon in the first game or Sheryl? Just went through the 2nd game and nearly craped myself out of fear and a most excellent plot, can't wait to see hte movie::drool:: hope it doesnt suck like house of the dead, but then HOTD never had storylines like silent hill, will play them all.

I just hope that this movie is not a letdown like Resident Evil and it would be an amazing thing if the whole movie could be made from computer graphics, Similar to Final Fantasy: Spirts withing adn the upcoming Final Fantasy:Advent Children. Please Konami GIVE US SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF! Do not loose the atomosphere from the games or the ironic horrifing twist that blow you mind at the end.

Okay.The movie is going to be based on SH 1-2.It's being filmed in Brantford,Ontario,Canada(I live there,front page of newspaper)for some parts.They're using downtown for the creepy ghosttown.Yay.And don't worry,it's going to be good.

the music dude who did the SH games is doinn the music for the films and the people who make the game are helping the director of it to make it by desinging the monsters characters etc, also it might be a anime film, which i really dont want it to be, cos i cannt take anime seriously and it woudlnt be as scary as real people, i love the SH games, there my favourite games ever, and i am in the midst of completing the 4th one, but its too damn scary, the film shouldnt have hardly any guns and should just have melee like the wooden plank or the chainsaw it should not have any music in it, part from maybe one or 2 scenes, but should just be really quiet, and all u hear is the footsteps and the heavy breathing of the character and the odd screeching of a grotesque creature that scares the crap out of the person watching it, it should have a big star playing the main character, but no one with muscles, or a sexy woman, just some average looking person, i also heard that Johnny Depp MIGHT be playing the main character, but its no final yet, i also think it should follow the 2nd SH, as i think its got quite a good story, as a lot of films are like the plot form SH1 a father looking for his lost daughter, but SH2 has a better, creepier, darker plot to it, i cannt bloody wait for this film, but i hope its not a let down like the RE movieS, they really put me off Resident Evil, so i can only hope

I don't really think that a SH movie would need hot chicks in it to be a good movie. Sh, unlike RE, has a much better plot line and can pull you in much better than RE ever could. Plus in SH the characters are just ordinary people, who don't look like they've been working out and in the military for years. One way it will be better, it has ordinary people, not some super solider bullshit. Sh shouldn't need to rely on fire fights with huge ass monsters with even bigger guns or hot chicks that seem to be able to move quite well in tight clothing. One exmaple of why a SH movie would pwn a RE movie, it has a good plot therefore doesnt need "intense" action scenes. The only thing I think that could really ruin the Sh movie is is they made some toned up assswipe, such as vin diseal, the main character. Come to think of it, I've never seen a "fit" person on any SH games. I agree with juice that they should have massive trucl loads of gore and other "adult" themes. Hope they won't do the sme thing as thign as Alien vs Predator and make it PG-13. That would be the end right there. Metal bands would be a good idea, as long as it was blended in with some sick freaky MC/ambient noise deal. Like a blend of the SH1 soundtrack and Slipknot. By metal I don't mean wanna be bands like linkin park. The other day I saw a music video that had a linkin park song with SH1 cut scenes -.-, what a disgrace....but yea, they should at least incorperate one (at minimum) little kid(s) in trouble, 1 or more teenage person (if more than one, then one has to die a gruesome death in front of the other's eyes). You have make the audiance question whether or not what is happening is actually real, kinda like the anime Perfect Blue.Only, the thing i don't really like about konami is their monster design is getting kind of weak, they need to look like more than walking piles of flesh turned inside out. I'm 100% agree with Bleeding_Me.
I have completed all the three SH games and when the only thing you can hear is the shoes the character is wearing. That's creepy. It gives you "the mood" for the game. And the unexpected in all the games always come in a quiet scene. You never know how and when you will meet a creature.

There are just a few horror movies out there whitch combines psychological elements that actually works as long as you're watching them correctly (alone, late at night, in the dark). And those are among others: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, both The Ring-movies, The Blair Witch Project and I have to say...That the beginning of the Resident Evil had a frightening atmosphere, reminded me a bit of Italien horror-classics.
The most importmant thing in the creation of a good horror movie/game - is the storytelling, the way HOW you tell the art (games and movies is an art-form ya know). Take a look at the Silent Hill-games and The Blair Whitch Project for example - You have this creeping atmosphere where you always find yourself unsafe and afraid, you don't know what's out there, you don't know what you're dealing with. If you can't tell and identify the source of the creeps (the mystified sounds actually) - you'll get afraid, and that is satisfying - we don't wanna have the predictable stuff, we want something else, try something else.By the way, the key-word of making a terrifying and often psychological atmosphere - is silence! There should NOT be any "Hollywood-music" in the backgrounds, it kills the horror-experience (That's why The Blair Whitch Project works so efficiently). There should not be any music at all except under the "right" circumstances (look at Silent Hill - awesome music, brings the right mood). A great example of creating a positive frustration in horror is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre with its terrifying and intensing music. To make it short: "Hollywood music" eliminates the realism while no music or frustrating music makes it more realistic and frightening.

I really hope they get Johnny Depp like they want.Also, the problem with Resident Evil, was the movie, unlike the game, would have 50,000 zombies on screen at a time, instead of like 1, or rarely 2. Also they completely changed the story. From what I have been reading about the SH movie is they seem to be emphasizing the fact that Silent Hill is awesome because of the creepy ambiance, not because you shoot crazy things. And also that it will be sticking very closely to the game. I think Konami saw how fans of Resident Evil were upset, and won't do that. Because upseting your fans doesnt get you more money.

what are talking about resident evil has ever been a great game, but the movie sucked really hard thought, in the movie the girl just figth the zombie dogs, and how can be that possible, if they are dogs and and zombies, plus in the game characters dont figth either, i hope they dont screw with this to. By the way in the res movie they should have gone for the outside city struggle vs zombies and not with just umbrella. Ill guess that if they come out with res2 theyll just make their characters figth and beat the nemesis instead of running like in the game.

The Resident Evil movie achieved what it was trying to do; be an action movie. As a horror movie, it was sub-par. Hopefully, Silent Hill will be more of a true horror movie than just a gun-fest like Resident Evil was.
