I code software for a living. I own a small business. I have been dabbling in dx10 for almost a year now. I hope all of you MegaGames readers understand this is all a Marketing Scheme to get you to go upgrade too Vista as well of course upgrade to a dx10 video card. I fully support paying for new hardware and software, however I don't support these types of blatent attemts to force users to upgrade especially since most of the article is nonsense. All of the above mentioned can easily be done under dx9 and has been done already in several games. Let them know you wont upgrade, better yet don't buy the game.

Actually, I heard from the grapevine that XP is getting DX10 in SP3 release, they are gonna inject a little vista into it, as all their lies about DX10 only working in vista is just retarded and I think it was the 2% of the vista users who actually own 8 series cards that started said rumor in the first place. Also this is why I'm sticking to my old school game makers, they know how to do simple s**t like that without having to buy a $500+ graphics card and a $200 OS(Vista Ultimate 64bit, yes yes pirate, ladeedaa, still stating a point on cost) to make it run.Also black and white 2 did all that and it wasn't DX10. And is it just me or does it seem like they are not setting the game up with dedicated servers and the upload requirement for a DX10 game will be way over what the majority of the public have for bandwidth? Cause if walking past a plant and touching it is going to put a strain on a dedicated server, they are seriously f**king up.

So stupid. It's just a marketing scheme so force more to buy vista as DX10 really isn't that much different from DX9 besides more power and enhanced special effects. This does not dictate the ability to destroy trees or have day/night cycles. Other games already do this. They are simply trying to take our money and further microsofts s**tty products.

Im sure there will be a big number of DX9 servers out there, because most people are sure to have DX9 setups. However as time moves on you will begin to see more and more DX10 servers. I'm just glad I was able to get my hands on a DX10 card recently
