Fkn useless...How about the army updates it's 47 year old Standard Assault Rifle instead of inventing useless sh*t like this to turn the armed forces into fkn child-like retards Think how long contact lenses would last on a battlefield... About 10 seconds before a grenade blows up near you and knocks them out of your fkn head

A little white phosphorous gas caught behind the lenses would do you some good. If that doesn't work, dry depleted uranium.

Insanely stupid. Yes! YOU WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FOCUS ON THIS!! Contact lenses can only change the way light refracts INTO the eye through the convex curvature of the outer part of the eye. The lens would have to project out slightly for you to see it.

Jesus you kids don't understand the concept, they don't plan to have the actual screen on the lens itself but rather have areas on the lens that emit light onto the retina where it will translate into an image there rether than use a lens as a screen it will be like a psuedo-projector

They havent worked out any problems yet, this is the first phase of the research where they are asking for white papers so they can ANALYZE THEM AND DECIDE WHETHER ITS POSSIBLE OR NOT TO DO THIS. Stupid kids dont know crap about research.

People who are saying it's too close for the eye to see are f**king stupid. You think it's just a piece of glass with paint on it? It's the f**king US army developing it, don't you think that would be the first problem they would think of? They know what they are doing. Some of the best scientists in the world are working for the US army, don't try and out smart them.

OH YEAH! SO f**kING COOL! America's gonna have an army of fag! "Oh! Wait Jim! I've lost my contact lense!" or "s**t, sarge! I just broke my nano-nail! What am i gonna do?!". Now let me just laugh at this gay technology and all the gays who cheer at it.

If focus wasn't a problem, i dont think the US ARMY would be working on it...then even MS could make them

agreed, this lens would only be blurred since it's too close.

Did it occur to anyone else that the eye WILL NOT BE ABLE TO FOCUS on something so close anyway?

What's wrong with the eyepiece things like in Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter? Do we really need to make it so it's an invisible lens on their eye that's easy to lose and insanely expensive to make? Maybe for James Bond but not for an average soldier. Really now, all that money spent on the development of these contact lenses could be spent on other more useful projects.
