Why would I spend money on game that looks like something that belongs in the early 90's, its because of fangasm Blizzard even survived the ice age. I would rather save up for something like Farcry 2 that actually makes full use of my hardware. Not something that looks like it was doodled by a 6 years old.

But it can be made darker yes, hell we can make it darker ourselves, just run it on windowed mode for a bit, use your video cards control center to set hue/contrast/saturation/lightness and so on till you get a good looking darker diablo. then save those settings as something not default so you can switch between normal and darker as you see fit.

Well, if i had to wait two more years id be fine with the art style as it is now but it would be a better Diablo if it was alittle darker can't they change the colors like the examples given in the Diablo3 Petition.

I agree the art style is terrible and doesnt match the game but about this "Geezus how hard can that be", pretty hard actually, the art is the slowest part of making a game, it takes years to go from conceptual sketches to actual textured and shaded 3d models and maps. So as much as i dont like it Im quite aware that they will not push release date 2 years into the future to change art style.Fo Sho Sir you are an idiot, 50k for blizzard means:
50K x $30 = $1.5M And that if d3 costs $30 at release, else we could have something as high as:
50K x $50 = $2.5M Thing is, why spend another couple of millions for 2 extra years of development if we're not getting any(or at least not much) extra profit from it. Learn to think before you post.

It's not about the color. The colors are fine. It's the art direction.Make it colorful as you wish. But don't make it WoW version Enhanced. I am not saying it looks like WoW because it isn't WoW. Why do you think Fallout 3 will look or feel similar to Oblivion?

I read a post on the D3 Forums that someone actually checked it out and you could basically just register as much as you like, without it even checking your IP or email address to be valid. Want to know a little secret? I think that if the game was kept dark and gothic (I don't mean color, but rather light-to-dark), you get a drastically different gameplay (at least according to the human eye). True that graphics don't make a game, but I find that being a dark place can affect gameplay due to the fact you'll likely to get jumped by zombies or whatever else jumps out at you.What I said though, is based on individual perception and not general public perception. :P

Again, this isn't about the colours. The colours are fine. It isn't about the graphics. The graphics look fine.It's about every single object in the entire game looking like it came straight out of WoW. I heard they even switched Diablo's typical inventory system to that of WoW's. Your Epic Icebreathing broadsword is now shrunk to one tiny square and packed along with your other items in what can only be described as an excel spreadsheet. Yay! Function over form, rite?

i love these graphics, not just because i generally like them, but because it's gotta be a severe whiplash for those graphics whores that voted 10/10 on crysis, what a perfect example of s**t gameplay, "BUT OMGZ AWESOME GRAPHICS", you should have learned by now that gameplay < graphics, i agree that graphics can play a major role in a game, but these graphics are gorgeous, and you don't like them, you probably have a problem with World of Warcraft for some reason.

Grass trees char modles look like a wow copy paste THOSE are the *colors* of D3Both Diable games are set in a gloomy dying setting trees are dying or dead grass has a hard time growing that sort of stuff. i can't quite figure out what Blizzard is talking about-- every single one of the above screen shots features identically colored monsters. and it's not like they're all the same guy-- looking closely, you can tell apart up to 4 different undead creatures... all the same palette of gray and brown/red. either way, we're all going to play D3, but they really should stick to the darker look of D2.

I totally agree with anonymous 10:42. It's not the colors that annoy me, it's the ridiculous cartoony nature of the art style they chose. If you watch the demo and the Barbarian gets to the mini boss, he's a big round cartoony fat guy. It's like something out of Kingdom Hearts (with a bit more gore)!

I never cared about the colors. Diablo 2 was colorful as hell on acid anyway.What bothered me was that the objects in the world, and the world itself, was styled *exactly* like WoW. You can make a colourful game and still make it look creepy, not cartoony. Really. Just not if you've seen too much WoW than is good for you.
