I seem to remember a certain desert in diablo 2 that was quite colorful. I also remember some very pretty ice caves and mountaintops in the expansion.

Why the hell is the biggest problem the colordesign?
Have u ever played with wow and diablo series?
As we can see..
Its too cartoony (like wow) and how this match to an apocaliptic world?
Diablo's world always darker and more brutal then warcraft(warcarft has always been to a f**kin' cartoony s**t and never contain any brutality.. thats the designs reason.. to make it colorful).
The graphic is secondary and i dont care if it runs in 2d again but..(it's just cares the normal player -who wants EXTREME graphic: blum effect, 40gb texture, 128x msaa with ultra HDR..- and not the real fans who can play just for the games spirit, story and to be the best)
And diablo 2 has never colorless just u saw it dark on your old crap monitor!
And at last.. leave the diablo fans alone cuz u cant play sucker!

They probably won't buy it, or worse, will pirate it (to taste the game before making a purchase). And for the most part people don't like to bandwagon and with an art style similar to WoW they will be inclined to think that. That can hurt sales since you can't make profit off of hardcore fans alone. Thats why there is the golden rule "The customer is always right."

Goddamnit no one cares it's colourful, it's the fact the everything in the game looks like it came straight out of WoW.Colourful shouldn't have to mean cartoony, too bad Blizzard seems to think it does. Here's to hoping all this makes them put a little more effort into not having Diablo 3 look like a WoW mod.
