hej all, sorry for my bad english, hmm, a have stalker from www.jeffo.tk , and i cant run it, i have pass, i extracted all files, ten i try to run XR_3DA.exe (ther is no other exe), i see sphash screen and ... and this is all i see, nothing more, there is generated engine.log but there is nothing about any error :( i have atholonTB 1000@1200, 640mb ram, sapphire ati radeon 9600xt with new generation order drivers based on catalys 4.5, ngo13c... please help :) maybe it is a driver problem ?

ok i know how to fix the "black screen" problem now.. put the game resolution to ur windows resolution and then turn fullscreen off.. this will let the game play full screen, but it wont turn off the monitor.. ciao.. o, and for the problem of RaZoR_bLaDe just put ur resolution in game different in ur config file.. (sorry for my bad english)

well i just had a play around in it and all i can say isWOW weapon select is numbers 1-5
u sem to jump realy high theres no menu system, anyone know how to configure controls via consle yet?
and how to turn fps on but other than that its amasing cant wait for the finished product i think more companys should "leak" stuff like this its fun an just makes u want it more

pre alpha ??? who called it that? an alpha is about 50% of the game witch is what the half life 2 is a beta is 75% of the finished game doom3 was nether of these as it was id softwares e3 demo there was just enuff for them to show off the grafix an a small selection of weapons an monsters half life 2 was a alpha as atho u can run around the maps an shoot things there was a lot missing in the form of .wav, textures, story , working maps , menu system an what not S.T.A.L.K.E.R sounds more like a "leaked" not quite finished demo not a beta or alpha but its on its way now so ill be able to tell u in about 30mins or so i still think that doom3 was leaked by id them selves to give the fans a taste an also to get media attention i think the half life beta/alpha was releaed by valve because they noticed howmuch intrest was genarated by doom3`s "leak" and i think S.T.A.L.K.E.R was the same as valves........

here is the answer to your question about MOHAA.rar file.first of all i want to let you know i'm looking for the password for this rar file to extract it,if you cand send a pm to my yahoo massenger account i would be really appriciated.my username is ardy_der@yahoo.com. so any way to work wit your .Bin files you need to download a program which is called Isobuster and you can download trial version from www.isobuster.com .then open the bin file in this program and select all the file names wich appears on the right hand window and Extract it to user data(simply right click and choose 'extract to user data')then you can burn the extracted file into a cd.another better way to do that is to install a cd burning program which is called "Alcohol" and then open the .CUE file in it and burn it into the cd.This file is a image file for alcohol program.you can download it from www.alcohol-soft.com . after this all you just need simply insert your burned CD's into the cd-rom and install the game then it would ask u for the serial number which you said u already have it.

I looked through the user.ltx ect, and could not find this option.. what is it listed as?? otherwise-- WOW! Surely the company realesed this to get interest in the game... This is not a leak.. It is too well done to be a leak. And the date is a flat out LIE! If the date were real, it would look a lot worse ect... Very very playable, a good demo IMO. Nobody should feel guilty downloading this at all.. IT really is a demo and the company released this on porpouse!!!! again-- HOW DO I CHANGE THE VIEWBOB?

also, those of you getting 'excellent' fps, don't get to excited. chances are the final release probably won't work on your computer. here what one of the developers had to say about sys requirements. Oleg: Here are the specs for comfortable gaming: P IV-1.4 Ghz / Athlon, 256 Mb RAM, GeForce 4 (or any other card of the same level). The PC hardware market dictates its rules and sets new limits for the games – the slower your computer and the older you video card is, the less details and effects you get. The better processor and video card, the better graphics you experience.. GeForce 2, GeForce 3, GeForce 4, GeForce FX cards and their counterparts have differences both in architecture and abilities so if your video card is more up-to-date you get more effects. For example, pixel and vertex shader effects (nice water surface, etc.) can be seen on GeForce 3 and higher cards. On the other hand, GeForce 2 will show an animated texture. GeForce FX will provide dynamic light sources and soft dynamic shadows cast from anything onto anything and bump-mapping on all surfaces which at least exceeds the Doom 3 technology.

GUYS ITS A FREKAIN ALPHA, and possibly your alphas are probably 2 years old.As for the CS sound, i m guessing they just put it in there for some sort of sound. I have encountered significnat amount of reading on how they acutally have an arms expert on the team, allowing them to portray the 'traditional' weapons in the most realistic manner, and how they have a guy who will provide actual sounds of all the guns (meaning they will probably have real sounds of their own).

stalker alpha impressions:impressive! annoyed how ladders dont seem to work. no ragdoll physics for enemies. CS sounds ROFL ;p first time shooting enemy game locks up once with fresh unrar. after that its fine. anyone know why the game becomes black and white when you press F3? stalker.alpha.1096 on system:

hey, if you go to the system notpad folder you can edit things, such as jump speed, its set at 7 but i put to 20 or what ever you want it at. but when its set start the game and you wil jump really high... like jump on the roofs.

I just wanted to say:Tried this Stalker Preview, and after extracting the rar files i started the game, suddenly it crashed .. because of this fonts\small - error message. I took a closer look to every rar file .. and saw, that my winrar did not extract "every" subfolder and file .. the fonts\small folders are from rar-file number six on .. i just extracted every file from 6 to 9 again .. and voila .. it worked! ;-) cheers

Not, bad, runs quite smoothly for an alpha (pre-alpha they say, whats that? I'm amazed it evens runs stably hehe), missing alot of stuff that has been seen in the later versions (in videos etc) but overall bodes well for the full release.

Hi ppl.Trying STALKER pre-alpha right now:Sorry, I would like to know how i can start a map with enemies on, clicking on the game files don't do anything as starting it with ''Server escape_koanyvrot'' for example does not too.I can play perfectly all the maps (with incredible results, at 1024x768 with my old Geforce 2 pro and Athlon 1.2 it goes perfectly smooth) but i would like to test some physics on the enemies in this really promising awesome game...What am i doing wrong? Please, Help THX ;)

If any of the people who are getting the game freeze when it says connecting to server. If you are using zone alarm it will freeze because it asks if you want it to be allowed to connect to the internet but you cant see it.
so just set its permissons in zone alarm.

Hey, I have the stalker pre-alpha from suprnova.org. After i have unziped all the files i open run_game1_zakat, run_game2_lest, or run_game3_escape and when it opens up it says server:starting... I have left it like this for a long time and nothin happens. Can anyone plz tell me whats wrong or what i'm doing wrong plz.

do you mean your monitor sort of turns off and has the signal error thing? because you can set the max fps in the 'user.ltx' file (rs_max_fps). If you put this to 75 it might solve your problem.

ok im running an athlon xp 2400 i gig ram geforce 4 ti4200 and this runs sweet. this has swayed me to buy this game when it comes out because if a crappy alpha made nearly a year ago runs this good the game will rock. The mini gun is awesome i luv the wind up before it fires.

I checked out the leak. yeah u r right it does use Counter Strike Sounds. So thats a let off. They should either tweak the effects or change it all together. Moreover the AI of the bots was dissapointing, or may be I m wrong after all its an alpha leak. The game does have nice textures but I wonder how will the gameplay will be. I mean is there a ragdoll effect engine there (like Havok). These all things does add some playibity to the game. plus V have modified weapons with CS weapon sounds. I know a lot of people who hate CS. I think the engine is the same as of HL1. I still have to check Painkiller.

sefull stuff for Stalker alpha.The password is: Futurezone.tv To start the game you can either use the icon called 'XR_3DA' and load a server with the console commands or use the files called run_game1_map to load a level. The commands i have found so far are...
Server 'map' -loads a specified map
help -List of commands The maps are..
A_lest lest ( soldiers and zombies try and kill you) escape_Koanyvrot (or run_game3_escape) (huge map with nice views, i havent seen any enemies on this one yet) a_lest_zakat Least_Zakat (You get attacked by shit loads of rats and some soldiers and zombies are around too) i think the A_ maps are just the same as the non A ones but with no enemies. GENERAL STUFF YOU MIGHT FIND USEFULL To change the graphics settings edit the file called User.LTX with notepad. Resolution is at the very bottom (800x600 default). To get rid of the stats displayed on screen the command is 'rs_stats off' If you press tab while in the console it will cycle though the available commands. GENERAL INFO
Pretty cool game but does not have physics and most of the sounds are just placeholders taken from Counter Strike. NOTE
If you are using ZoneAlarm the tick box things that ask you if you want it to be able to access the internet pop up when you start a server but you cant see it so the game just gets stuck on 'Starting Server' so either disable zonealarm or manually set it so XR_3DA can access the Internet. Thats all i can think of...

Ok I got the stalker alpha and whenever I try to run it, it goes into a black screen like its going to run but then it exits back to the desk top. does anyone have any idea how to solve this. oh and this is what i got from the engin note pad.

Stunt? have you not seen the amount of people whom it DOES work for compared to those who it doesn't? only a small percentage of people are unable to make this game work.... Are you saying that here is a build floating around that isnt even playable to any degree? because both you and I know thats just stoopid. Maybey you should be sure you did everything properly before saying it doesn't work, hell, I did it on 3 seperate pc's, what does that say? either way it's a pretty average alpha, the best bit being the view distances, and the iq in some areas. But i don't care, what i said worked, 3 times, so try it, and if it doesnt work, then who cares, this game will be out soon enough anyway.

(d3d9.dll was not found) means you need directx9(unable to init shader system) means that either your video card doesnt support shaders or that it wont initialize since dx9 isnt installed

The whole Counter Strike culture made avaliable a new kind of species...I like to call "The ƒuckhead gamer" this species has an IQ of that of a water melon and plays nothing but Counter Strike. It comes into other people's games and says things like "n00b!" and "h4x!" then it trys to sound very tough but in real life it isn't. Its just a jock in college who gets picked upon by everyone else. It has the intellect of a goldfish in a toilet and the caliber of a village idiot red neck trying to walk around a tree. They usually play Counter Strike but recently when they discover other games they migrate and pollute the game community with their filth. These sorts of people should go back to playing Counter Strike and not try to play games like MOHAA or Call Of Duty. In fact they don't *deserve* to play other games such as Quake 3 or BF1942 they should only play Counter Strike because thats what that sort of person is good at. These type of people fit into one group this is called "THE ARMY OF NUB!" why is it called "THE ARMY OF NUB!" well for the above reasons obviously

It's amazing what this engine can crap on screen and still keep such awesome framerates.If you open your user.ltx file you can change graphics options. I have a p4 2.8ghz, a gig of ddr400, a S-ATA150 hard drive and a radeon 9800pro 128 meg. I put the settings to: 1280x1024, 32bpp, max texture quality (4), antisoptropic filtering, antialiasing On (it doesnt have specific levels, seems to be just on or off. I would assume 2x or 4x). Anyways my max fps was somewhere over 150, the lowest i saw it was 45fps looking over a bunch of buildings and lots of landscape standing on a tallass part of the map. This engine is amazingly efficient...something i'm finding less of every month. Lazy developers (or angry corporate slime forcing developers to put out the game real fast) are taking new processing power for granted and they aren't optimizing for performance. I'm glad to see the developers of stalker took the time to make the game fun and good looking on a broad range of hardware. Can't wait for the full vers to come out. Maybe even you TNT2 users will be able to run the game ok :)

Oh and btw, does Medal Of Crap have a 2km View distance? Bump mapping? Per-pixel Lighting? realistic weight physics? real-time render effects such as weather, plant and animal life? didnt think so, so hush child. this is a pre-alpha, if ur judging this game by this build, then i feel sorry for u, have ANY of u even seen the latest videos of it? 300,000 polygons on screen at anyone time would push many of ur systems beyond their limits, unlike this PRE-ALPHA! get over urselves... not intended for thos who DO understand the more complex things in life here.....

My God, some of u n00bs i swear.... Think real hard, when u get kicked back to ur desktop, and check teh engine log, READ IT, not just look at it, and u will see that NET_client.cpp is coded in vb. Now what this basically means when it comes down to it is that certain dependancies, like dll's, drivers or such are either out of date, or corrupted. To remedie this, and im serious this is ur ONLY option, u have to disable ur lan in network connections, uninstall the network adapter in device manager, restart, and re install it, and set up ur lan how u had it again, and i guarantee it will. if u anna be a complete f ucking n00b and complain that what im saying sounds too bullshite to be true, then with all do respect, fruck off. i spent hours with a friend trying to work this out, and this is the ONLY solution. it works, simple as that. And u 'stalker_sux' shut the fuc k up! the reason those cs and q3 sounds are there is because very likely when this was ripped from wherever its source was, either the original sounds became corrupted, or the leaker failed to get them, and as a result, had to replace them with something similar, ie; cs and q3 sounds. dont even think about paying out something like this unless u can prove u can do better. anyways, thaats howto fix it guys, cya.Sobbsy

physics were not included in the leak, neither was the ability to climb ladders etc. There are however enemies in one of the batch files...i forget which one. there are rats to shoot and some shooting enemies with only half of their heads modeled? lol i know sounds weird but my game crashes if they shoot me a couple times. try running all the batch files.

It looks great but they realy does smack of a lack of knowledge of guns the biggest thing was the AR in there has some parts in the wrong places and the ejection port cover does not close after you fire this would realy kill reliability, the spring holds it open thats all i saw on my first run threw im very disapointd they didnt take the time to actuly learn a bit about teh guns they are using

u should get the allseeingeye to view them and add them to your favorites!
or u can browse for them in game but will take super long!

here is somthin too add on it
the more seeders and peers there r the better most of the time!
u at least need one seeder to get the full file!
if it doesnt strt and comes up with a error or red text at the bottom saying diffrent things like problem connecting to tracker or http error try again it takes five times somtimes for it to catch and strt (usually there is no actual error or tracker down but somtimes there r trackers down!)
somtimes its good to right click the file u want off of suprnova.org and save target as then open that file! (this is if mirrors r messed up and such also easy acsess to it if u had to stop the download or upload for a moment!)
it will 99% of the time start out SLOW but will speed up after time goes on if u follow these directions! (it can take a hour somtimes to reach 30 kb but another hour later u could be at 60 or 100 kb's and so on!)
if u run into problems read the suprnova forums see if somone else has the same problem!

oh and by the way to all you idiots complaining about bad resolution and graphics,open your user.ltx file with notepad. this file is in the main stalker directory with all the .bat files. you can change resolution, texture quality, keymapping, colour quality, pretty much every settings option. you could also use your brain and press ~ for console while in game and type "help" for a list of commands and options. stop complaining about this alpha, its from 2002 and its still very impressive.

dont be surprised about slow dload rates, because 1000 f**king lamer kiddies grab the files then close the torrent as soon as its done downloading. wait for your share rating to reach 2.00 or higher befor eyou close. if everyone did this, bittorrent would be insanely fast. too bad there are too many f**king morons out there so everyone has to download at 5-30kbps Remember: your download speed is proportional to your upload speed!

but i went to SuprNova.org and i searched for stalker alpha. Then when i saw the file it said 117 mb so i clicked on the file and it downloaded a file which was 9.93kb.

Teletubbie - first download mIRC . than after u search, select a server that had alot of GETS and its online (in green text, not red). When it connects, press paste. (u have 2 change some options in mIRC, but its complex, look for a tutorial on the ircspy website) looks complex but its not LOL :D

hl2 beta - i got it from www.ircspy.com but not all of it (85%) but it still works fine except some sounds. (its big! 1.4 GB!) it still might be there, good luck! I think it requires a Geforce3 / Radeon 8500 (not geforce 4 MX), but i dunno 4 sure.

ok. I play the alpha and my impresions are:
The goods:
The movement of the cam when you walk is a great idea.
Very good frame rates, but the game was played in a poor resolution and the detail level isn´t very good.
The maps are huugee.
The bads:
The graphics are poor if compared to id´s Doom3. They are at the level of Half Life 2 (some things better some thing worse).
Some texture are very bad.
Some elementes of the buildings are very simple.
Where are the physics?
Conclusion:
Hey this is an alpha, the game for the moment is good. When it arrives in full versions "could" be great. We only can wait.

baza when it says tracker not connecting retry its does it somtimes but will work might even take 4 or 5 times!as for the slow speed make sure your firewall is set to medium security i had mine on high and it just made it too slow befor when dl'ng torrents!

To get rid of the junk on the left, open with Notepad the file user.ltx, locate "rs_stats on" line and replace it with "rs_stats off" ! No junk on the left! :) Yeah, this alpha sucks becuase you can't open doors, can't get in vehicles(and drive those trucks of course),can't climb vertical ladders, can't move barrles, break down sign posts and stuff like that, etc. However, the "escape" level shows just how big the scale of the game is, I can't wait for the final game!!! It should really rock, and with a jeep running down those slopes I wouldn't get bored!!! Btw, anyone know how to trick the game console so as to show you from 3rd person perspective??? Thanks!

in painkiller u gotta click on the jewel in the middle of the numbers to start it after u select the single player to the top and right of the jewel there is the levels u select them by moving it to 1, 2 or 3 level two is messed up at points so u can try it but only look a certain way after u get to a certain point it will slowdown to 2fps on level 2 and freeze at points but the other levels r fine and put together pretty well so far!as for stalker u double click on the run demo or run game bat files after u have extracted it of course!
painkiller = worth more to download if u got a high speed connection and a good system its put together more!

magoo, when u extract the first file, winrar automatically extracts the files from the rest of the parts. BTW the last part of a split file is usually smaller, because its the left overs that didnt fit the limit of each file (eg. if u wanna split a 20mb file into 8mb files, u will have two files that are 8mb and the thrid file will be 2 mb, see my point?)

So I only extracted part 1 one and it plays fine by clicking on the batch file of each map! Is there a way to put all the parts together? ALso, what is the purpose for CUE when converting the BIN works fine to run PAINKILLER?

you can get the multiplayer to work by:
1) first person starts server by running one of the .BAT files2) second person runs the XR-3DA.exe and types in client (example: client bob) you probably want to tweak the user.ltx file first though. change them net_name part to whatever you want your name to be in the game. Also, to get rid of the annoying debug stuff change the rs_stats to off. problems:
just like with the domo3 beta, when you die you cant just click to respawn. the only way ive figured out is to type in disconnect (quits you out) then join back in (which is a problem if youre hosting because the game stops for everyone else too). I think the g_spawn command has something to do with it but i havent figured it out. for a full list of commands, in the console type help.

ok.. yes the hl2 beta is true.. IRCspy if you know of it... and you can change the GFX in stalker.. go to the user file and set em there. THIS GAME DOES NOT RUN GOOD AT HIGH SETTINGS>> turn the dencity to 0.051 which is actualy less then in screens iv seen as for draw distance. you will see it runs like shit. good if you leave that setting down but then you dont have all the plant life you would hope to see!

half life 2 beta sucks it runs shite on my pentium4 2.6 gig with gforce 4 ti 4200 and 512 of ddr dont even bother d/l ing it. besides its over hyped anyhow . But stalker alpha demos wich have been released NOT leaked are great.i think it will be a realy great game when it comes out and kick counter strikes ass i will definatly be investing in a copy.

Overall it has real nice graphics and it seems like they have taken some of Counterstrikes gun sounds, but when you are shooting the enemies its not pretty or anything, but its good to get to have a look at.

stalker wont work, its a black screen with the line code on the left, it doesnt crash or anything it just display a black screen.i got the first version on suprnova there was no password,its 9 rar files. fuk futurzone for releasing another version with a pass, someone crash their site now.

Thanks for taking the time to help nubes like me. The problem with stalker for me (both versions on suprnova) is after the download is complete i go into the bittorrent folder\incoming and try to extract the stalker rar. a window pops up saying "enter password for encrypted file: futurezone.tv.nfo" I've tried what Con said below but I cant get anything to extract. Anyway, now I'm trying to learn about the bin&cue deal... I have painkiller on disk but dont know what to do with bin and cue... anyway, thanks again man.

update the 2nd level on painkiller has some frezing and drops to 2fps problem at certain areas and the boss fight which is freakin awsome get at lowest about 20's fps wise but is playable and freakin crazy and awsome i would say the 2nd level is unplayable at points! first level has the best fps ranging from 40's to hundreds so painkiller definetly not done yet or optimized but its getting there overall! the steak gun is pretty tight too!

o magoo thats y i just noticed u r ttrying to get the 115mb file u need the 118mb one it doesnt have a password at least it didnt when i got it and i dont think it would now! as for it not starting u r probably seeing it saying it can't connect to tracker or somthing it happens somtimes it takes like 5 + trys bfor it connects so just keep tryin it happens alot and make sure your firewall is on medium r lower or it will have a hard time connecting and gettin good speed and the more seeders the better!

actually painkiller seems worth playing with how far along it seems in this release it seems like a big demo! and stalker it seems worth it a little if only u wanna see some of the prettyness it will have and wht framerate u will get but it doesnt have all the stuff though like its regular sounds and some missing details and such!

ok well as for the performance on your sys i dunno i have a radeon 9800 pro and lowest i got so far is around high 30's low 40's fps wise! the readme says recommended requirments r 2.0 ghz processer and 512 mb ram and a geforce 5900 and it says these r not the recommend ones for the final version of the game when it comes out meaning the final will be lesser requirments!
so it will play pretty good id say but not super great!
as for the stalker encription wht do u mean by it? a password is needed is that wht? i was going to check the forums about it but the forums r down there :( at the moment! after u extract the winrar files that stalker is in u need to click on the ones that say run game or run demo to get it to work!
as for painkiller it comes as bin and cue files so if u have a virtual drive on your system like alcohol 120% or dameon tools mount the image on one of them thenright click on it then hit explore then read the readme! it tells u to copy that folder to your hard drive and the launch paingame exe.
and there u go it should strt
u could also burn the bin to a cd with like nero just select burn image file or whtever it says in nero and burn it but i suggest gettin dameon tools or alcohol especially if u have no cd burner!

I did get my stalker file off of suprnova, the 1st one(118mbs)and it is encrypted. the 2nd file doesn't seem to work with bittorrent. this is pretty kewl stuff man, i'm such a nube i didn't even know this shitexisted...lol!

ok i see u no how to use it now magoo? ok well if u ever cant get it the torrent working right right click on it on the website and save as and launch it from where u saved it at and if it looks like a notepad file (which somtimes it does just right click on it and open with and open it with the bittoreent program!

remember to read the readme files that come with the games or whtever u downloaded that only come with them somtimes and read the nfos that come with them most of the times!
all u do is rightclick on that sys information file (which is th nfo) and select open with and select notepad and u can read it! alot of times there is info in them u need which could b cd keys password and so on! so your passwoord might b in there!

hey it plays well seems like it can and probably b very good as a finished product when its finished!
has some crashes and glitches somtimes and each time u strat it up and fire your first shot u will get stutter but framrate is very good!
u can get it on numerous p2p places my favorite is suprnova.org which is torrent place where u need bittorent to download from there its a excellent program! if u go there and the page doesnt load retry its cause they have a few mirrors down remember u need bittornt to dl from there!ALSO THERE IS A PAINKILLER LEAK OUT NOW TOO I GOT IT BUT HAVENT TRIED IT ILL COME BACK AND LET U NO HOW IT IS!
