Finally someone intelligent, your right 256 processors is not only insane but impossible on a single dye or even multiple dyes. You would probably need three aircraft carriers just to hold it, considering the fact Cray Systems utilize a series of racks spanning library shelves even to this day. They fit inside a building the size of a mansion plot.

why dont they care more about making quality processors instead of what people perhaps might see someday in a distant future

I don't think it's Vista on idle... Maybe a Vista running minesweeper? Or xp, doing calculations on how 2 galaxies collide, or simulating neural brain activity in human brain?

Think if you render something its posible to hold 256 at 100% for hours. xD

Calculations for science or economy are performance killers, too.

But Gamers only think about games xD

Photoshop can eat 16GB Ram if you got a large print ad. xD

Hows is that even possible. How can you cram 256 processors???

well i would be satisfied already if there were some games who would make use of more then 2 cores already.
What do i need gazillions of cores if the software wont utilize more then 2?

91% what the hell is it doing playing crysis and gta iv at max with 1000 pages of porn at the same time?

wow thats great but it really doesn't help me run any of those demanding games any better as XP has no ability to cope with anything like this. vista is still a joke that you need 256 cpus just to boot in less than a week! and all this windows 7 stuff won't be for me to play games on but for mega-corps to crunch numbers.

in short why does anyone care they have done this its of no use to you or me

Only 1024 windows of quantum quality porn can cause this.
