Dont go out and buy this right off hand, wait till people (not the ms fanboys)give it a shot and report on it,if you gona use it for gaming, wait for benchmarks, just wait, period.. i myself still have xp and waiting to see if they ever live up to that whole "vista is better for gaming" thing they were pushing pre launch, should have been a hint when they tried blackmailing gamers with that directx10 thing, yay for MS!!! again dont buy anything untill the hype blows over and we get some real feedback.

I would agree, at the very LEAST people who paid full retail for ultimate should get the upgrade for free. Arguably people who bought vista should get this heavily discounted or free. But honestly, I can see a lot of people who didnt want Vista, will want to get this either, not for a while anyway. People with vista will, so thats probably their main source of customers, so they need ot charge money for it.

All people with a valid vista cdkey should get a free upgrade can't belive i paid 400+ on ultimate and it was anything but.. Ironic first time i went to buy a OS and it was the worst ever can bet ima pirate 7 to make up what i wasted on vista.

i have the RC wind0ws 7 installed right now and i can safely say this IS the best wind0ws ever made, Iv installed it on a pentium 4 c0mputer and it runs better than XP (vista was too sht for this PC). I also have a new core 2 quad PC with win7 (used to have vista) and it runs at speeds i never thought were p0ssible. When i do any task within expl0rer its like the c0mputer knows what im about to do and has it ready for me before i click anything, it really is that fast.
Also, it hardly uses any ram. I have had no c0mpatibility issues at all, inface, since i installed it 2 weeks ago i havnt had the slightest pr0blem, its been flawless so far.C0nsidering it hasnt even been launched yet, its quite an achievement.
MS have launched a FREE release candidate thats better than their £150 vista ultimate OS and XP. Wh0ever said this is just wind0ws ME all over again is an idi0t, you couldnt be more wrong. Try it before you judge it

i really think this should be free for anyone who bought Windows Vista or at least release Service pack 2 for Vista which can make the O/S faster.

I have already windows 7. Its really faster then vista and of course most beautiful. I ll guess that all will pirate it of course...when its out.

while its good that this SHOULD be the version of windows i've been waiting for since 2K its a little bit expensive.also as someone who upgrades twice a year i resent there licensing rules that usually mean i buy 2 copy per year!!!! i am the proud owner of 16 copys of XP64 only 5 are in use but M$ say the others can only be used with hardware thats now in the bin

Cheap or not, I've always hated Vista for the lack of performance in games, so I kept on using XP.Am I the only one thinking that Vista people should get the upgrade for free? I mean it's been only about 2 or 3 year since it came out...
